- Obtain and confirm supplier delivery commitments and maintain accurate purchase-order quantities, dates, lead times, confirmations and other relevant purchasing information in the ERP system.
- Manage material shortages, expediting priorities and supplier commitments, ensuring recovery actions, accountable owners and expected delivery dates are clearly documented and followed through to closure.
- Monitor supplier capacity, lead-time constraints and delivery performance, and escalate de-commitments, capacity limitations and other supply risks that may affect production or customer commitments.
- Support improvement of supplier on-time delivery, lead time, minimum order quantity and safety-stock parameters through data analysis, supplier follow-up and coordination with Planning and relevant stakeholders.
- Manage purchase-order rescheduling, pull-in, push-out and cancellation actions while supporting the reduction of excess, slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
- Coordinate rejected-material recovery, Supplier Corrective Action Requests, reverse logistics, replacement, rework and replenishment activities with Quality, Warehouse and suppliers.
- Participate in operational supplier-performance reviews and drive assigned delivery, responsiveness and recovery actions through to effective closure.
- Provide accurate operational data and execution support for approved alternate-source qualification, supplier-development activities and digital supply-chain visibility initiatives.
- Identify recurring purchasing, delivery, supplier and material-management issues; lead root-cause analysis, implement sustainable corrective actions and verify that improvements remain effective.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Warehouse, Finance and suppliers regarding open orders, shortages, delivery risks and required recovery actions.
- Ensure purchasing transactions, supplier commitments and supporting records are current, accurate, traceable and compliant with approved procedures and delegated authority.
