Security Administrative Associate (Shipyard Security Support)

Venture Dynamics is seeking a Security Administrative Associate to support industrial security operations in Norfolk, Virginia. This role provides administrative support within an active Navy shipyard environment and may function similarly to a Security Clerk or Access Control Administrator depending on assignment. The position supports personnel security, physical security, and government asset control in accordance with federal and installation policies. Assignments are project-based and may align with long-term contract work based on performance and operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain security-related recordkeeping systems, databases, and spreadsheets containing sensitive and controlled information
  • Process and safeguard Personal Identifiable Information (PII) in accordance with government and company requirements
  • Coordinate issuance and tracking of badges, vehicle passes, camera passes, laptop passes, and property control documentation
  • Support installation access processing for employees, subcontractors, staffing agencies, and government personnel
  • Monitor badge expiration and renewal timelines and notify employees accordingly
  • Interface with on-duty security personnel to coordinate access to controlled industrial areas
  • Communicate with managers and government representatives regarding ship locations, facility access, and special requirements
  • Respond to inquiries requiring working knowledge of government and company access control policies

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years directly related administrative or security support experience, or Associate degree with 2 years related experience
  • Experience processing PII and handling sensitive or confidential information
  • Working knowledge of industrial security procedures and access control systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel for spreadsheet tracking and reporting
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CAC or other required government-issued badge
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Navy or Department of Defense shipyard operations
  • Familiarity with controlled industrial area (CIA) access requirements
  • OSHA 10 Maritime
  • Experience interfacing with government security offices
  • Bilingual capability

Additional Information

Work is performed in active shipyard and shipboard environments supporting Navy and commercial repair operations. The role may require accessing vessels, industrial areas, and production work zones. PPE is required when entering shipyard or shipboard spaces in accordance with site safety policies. Reliable transportation is required to report to assigned shipyard or project locations. Work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with potential for overtime or schedule adjustments based on project requirements.
