The posting

Venture Dynamics is seeking a Quality Assurance Administrative Assistant to support a QA department serving Navy ship repair operations. This role coordinates test and inspection hold points, maintains quality documentation, and keeps inspectors, supervisors, and customers informed as work moves through each inspection stage. It is a strong fit for an organized administrative professional looking to grow in shipyard quality assurance, with exposure to welding program management, supplier control, and internal auditing. This role is offered on a contract basis, with strong potential for long-term or permanent placement based on performance and client need.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the department Hold Point Coordinator, ensuring customer hold points are received and conveyed to all personnel who require notification.
  • Schedule and document test and inspection hold points as the department's Quality Assurance Administrative Assistant, working under the direction of the QA Supervisor.
  • Develop and maintain test and inspection plans for assigned work.
  • Maintain quality document control, including updating, filing, and archiving QA records.
  • Communicate with internal departments and external customers to coordinate inspections and resolve documentation questions.
  • Support QA program functions as assigned, including Welding Program Management, Approved Supplier List maintenance, and internal audits.
  • Participate in internal and external process audits as a member of the QA team.
  • Attend bi-weekly Quality Assurance Department team briefings.

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of related work experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform administrative duties with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and MS Project.
  • Must be able to obtain base access (DBIDS) as required by the military installation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Shipboard experience, such as prior U.S. Navy service or ship repair work.
  • Experience with quality document control, inspection records, or hold point tracking.
  • Exposure to welding program administration, approved supplier lists, or internal audit processes.

Additional Information

The Quality Assurance Administrative Assistant works primarily in an office setting, with occasional visits to production or shipboard areas for audits and inspection coordination. PPE is required in those areas in accordance with site safety policies. Reliable transportation is required to report to the assigned work location.
