The posting

Accountant - AUS

Accounts Payable (AP)

Process supplier invoices through Lightyear/ Xero, manage invoice approvals, preparation of weekly payment run (including ABA file), Process BPAY payments and monitor aged payables, handling supplier queries & supplier account maintenance.

Accounts Receivable (AR)

Reconciliation and invoice creation, verify contract income against funding schedules, monitor and follow up receivables

Banking and Reconciliations

Complete weekly bank, Weel corporate cards accounts reconciliations, investigate and resolve discrepancies, clean Xero file maintenance

Payroll

Fortnight pay runs (40 staff), set up new employees, terminations, maintain rosters and process leaves, process/reconcile superannuation, STP submissions support year end, respond and monitor for staff queries/mail box, Process Queensland Long Service Leave (QLeave) levies and returns for applicable clients

Month End

Prepare and post accruals, prepayments and adjustment journals, complete balance sheet journals, assist with the preparation of monthly management reports & Ensure the Xero file is ready for review within 10 business days of month end

Compliance

Preparation of IAS, Preparation of BAS, GST reconciliation, Reconcile PAYG withholding and super guarantee obligations

Grants and Contracts

Track grant income and associated expenditure against agreed budgets, maintain contract income registers, Assist with preparation of acquittal documentation for review

Emails and Client Support

Monitor shared and client mailboxes, triaging queries daily, Draft responses to routine finance and payroll queries, escalate complex issues to the Director for resolution

Process and Systems

Follow documented workflows and checklists for each client, identify tasks that can be automated or streamlined, always Keep task tracking in Asana

The Person

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline

3 Years Minimum hand on experience with Strong working knowledge of Xero, including Xero Payroll

Excellent written English and confidence communicating directly with clients over email, attention to detail and meeting deadlines

Added advantage

Experience with Lightyear, Weel, Syft and Asana (task management tools)

Experience with Australian not-for-profit, aged care, NDIS or community services clients
