The Role

  • Financial Record Keeping: Managing daily financial transactions, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations.
  • Financial Reporting: Preparing monthly and annual financial statements, asset registers, and depreciation schedules.
  • Taxation & Compliance: Preparing and lodging BAS, PAYG, and supporting annual tax obligations and statutory reporting.
  • Payroll & Superannuation: Processing payroll, super contributions, and employee leave management.
  • Audit Support: Coordinating annual audits and preparing statutory financial statements.
  • Data Analysis & Advisory: Analyzing trends, monitoring cash flow, and advising management on financial performance and process improvements.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assisting with budgets, forecasts, and financial planning.
  • Systems & Processes: Maintaining accounting systems (Xero accounting software) and ensuring process efficiency and leveraging financial AI tools/knowledge where applicable.

The person

  • An accounting qualification & / or relevant degree
  • Good communication skills / good English-speaking & written skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Highly self-motivated with good engagement
  • Be a team player
  • 35 years experience working as an accountant in a company
  • Experience in working with Australian companies & Australian tax
  • Experience in working with XERO
  • Experience in preparing budgets and forecasts would be an added advantage
