Als Data Architect bij Verhaert Digital werk je samen met multidisciplinaire projectteams van designers, developers en analisten. In het kader van innovatietrajecten begrijp je de databehoeften van klanten, breng je ze in kaart, analyseer je ze in detail en zet je ze om in technische requirements. Je legt hierbij makkelijk de brug tussen de business- en datanoden van de verschillende stakeholders bij de klant en het development team, om tot een succesvolle implementatie te komen.

Deze rol is gebalanceerd tussen architectuur en hands-on werk: ongeveer de helft van je tijd besteed je aan het ontwerpen van data-oplossingen, de andere helft versterk je het projectteam om die oplossingen mee concreet te bouwen.

Verantwoordelijkheden

  • Je vertaalt de business van de klant naar functionele en niet-functionele requirements, de nodige ERD’s (entity-relationship diagrams) en eventuele rapportagedoeleinden. Hiervoor organiseer je workshops bij de klant en is jouw on site aanwezigheid bij hen cruciaal.
  • Je werkt de data-architectuur uit waarbij je concepten als data lakehouses, data mesh, ETL-pipelines, event streaming en IoT kan toepassen.
  • Je bouwt mee aan concrete dataplatformen en versterkt hands-on het projectteam.
  • Je past best practices toe op vlak van data governance, regulering en security, en begeleidt de klant hierin.
  • Je werkt in het kader van innovatie en transformatie waarbij je zowel vanaf een wit blad kan vertrekken als van oudere legacy-omgevingen.
  • Je volgt de evolutie van nieuwe technologieën binnen data engineering en deelt je inzichten met het team.
  • Je bent niet enkel de technische developer maar bovendien maak je deel uit van het go to market team en ben je tijdens het project hun vertrouwde gezicht en sparringpartner.

Profiel

Ervaring en technische kennis:

  • Masterniveau in een relevante studierichting.
  • Minimaal 5 jaar professionele ervaring in data engineering of data-architectuur.
  • Ervaring met één of meerdere dataplatformen zoals Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Azure Synapse of Azure Data Factory.
  • Ervaring met cloudplatformen als Azure en AWS.
  • Kennis en ervaring met talen als SQL, Python en PySpark.
  • Je kent de principes en concepten van relationele en NoSQL-databanken, data lakehouses en platformen.

Pluspunten:

  • Vertrouwd met CI/CD en agile projectwerking.
  • Ervaring met AI-tools zoals Gemini of Claude.
  • Ervaring met Power BI of andere analytics-omgevingen.

Soft skills:

  • Sterk analytisch vermogen en oog voor zowel het grote plaatje als het detail.
  • Goede communicatievaardigheden.
  • Klantgericht en zelfstandig.
  • Innovatieve mindset en openheid voor nieuwe technologieën.
