Veritaz is a leading IT staffing solutions provider in Sweden, committed to advancing individual careers and aiding employers in ensuring the perfect talent fit. With a proven track record of successful partnerships with top companies, we have rapidly grown our presence in the USA, Europe, and Sweden as a dependable and trusted resource within the IT industry. Job Overview Role Summary Our client is seeking an experienced Backend Developer / Engineer for a consulting assignment within a team responsible for release management of the organization’s primary applications. The mission is to enhance and streamline the release process through improved monitoring, automation, and quality assurance. The organization is transitioning from Jira to a new tool and needs to establish a separate database for release tracking. The consultant will analyze dependencies and automation flows between Jira projects and release tools, then design and implement an appropriate technical solution. A central part of the assignment is the continued development of an existing dashboard into a unified decision-support solution. It will provide clear performance and stability metrics, defined thresholds, and quality gates with approved, warning, and blocked status levels. The solution must guide release managers toward clear next steps and automatically create issues and send notifications when deviations occur, without negatively affecting release cadence. Initial support will cover the organization’s most important Android and iOS applications, with the possibility of future expansion. Key Responsibilities Analyze dependencies, integrations, and automation flows between Jira projects and release management tools. Design and implement a separate database and supporting technical solution for release tracking. Enhance an existing dashboard into a consolidated decision-support tool for release stakeholders. Implement metrics for application performance and stability, including thresholds and quality gates. Provide actionable guidance for release managers based on approved, warning, and blocked status levels. Automate issue creation and notifications when release metrics or quality indicators deviate from defined thresholds. Develop end-to-end functionality across backend and frontend components. Collaborate closely with release managers, data scientists, and release engineers to translate operational needs into usable technical solutions. Ensure that delivered code is tested, maintainable, and thoroughly documented for ongoing support and development. Work independently within large, established codebases and deliver useful results from the beginning of the assignment.

Technical Stack & Requirements Backend: Strong development expertise in Java and Python. APIs and services: Experience designing services and developing REST or gRPC APIs. Frontend: Practical experience with React and TypeScript. Data-intensive interfaces: Experience building user-friendly internal tools and dashboards that process or present large data volumes. Release tooling: Experience analyzing and automating workflows involving Jira and release management platforms. Mobile delivery: Knowledge of release processes for Android and iOS applications is advantageous. CI/CD: Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery tools is preferred. Backstage: Previous experience developing Backstage plugins is advantageous.

Qualifications & Experience A minimum of five years of software development experience is required, together with documented success delivering full-stack functionality from initial design through production-ready implementation. The consultant must be comfortable entering large, existing codebases, rapidly understanding unfamiliar systems, and working independently with limited guidance. Strong product understanding is required, including the ability to translate ambiguous processes and stakeholder needs into simple, practical tools. The role also requires effective written and verbal communication and experience collaborating across multiple teams.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
