Overview

Verkada is excited to announce our Marketing Development Representative (MDR) program in Tokyo, Japan! As a Marketing Development Rep, you will sit under Marketing and support Account Executives (AE) in an effort to build pipeline and source net-new opportunities. Ideal candidates should be passionate, high energy and a self-starter with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced sales organisation.

The MDR program is a 10 month program where you will learn what it takes to be successful in outbound sales and prospecting. After successful completion of the program, you may be eligible to be promoted to the Sr. MDR program. If promoted, you will receive a compensation adjustment and an increased quota with the intention of preparing you to be a future AE at Verkada.

Responsibilities

  • Making a high volume of outbound calls each day.
  • Identifying potential customers and generating new business opportunities for the company.
  • Contacting and qualifying potential customers.
  • Managing leads through the sales pipeline by setting appointments, following up on leads, and tracking progress towards meeting pipeline goals.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing team to develop strategies for reaching pipeline targets.
  • Stay up-to-date on market trends, competition, and industry developments.

Requirements and skills

  • Must be bilingual (English/Japanese): Native-level Japanese; business-level English
  • 6 months of experience in sales or customer service preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with potential clients.
  • Knowledge of sales techniques and strategies.
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change.
  • A desire to learn and grow in the sales field.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Inbox 0 type mentality.
