The posting

The level (Assistant Consultant or Consultant) will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and demonstrated capabilities.

We are seeking a highly motivated public affairs and strategic advisory professional to support clients in navigating Vietnam’s policy, regulatory, and stakeholder environment.

The role combines policy research and analysis, client servicing, stakeholder engagement, project management, and business development. The successful candidate will help develop practical and actionable advice for clients on public policy, market entry, regulatory, and broader business challenges in Vietnam.

At the Consultant level, the role includes greater ownership of client accounts, project delivery, and junior team development.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Advisory & Project Delivery

  • Conduct research and analysis on public policy, legislation, regulations, and market developments relevant to clients’ business objectives.
  • Support the development of strategic advice on policy, regulatory, market-entry, and stakeholder-management challenges in Vietnam.
  • Prepare high-quality analytical reports, briefing notes, presentations, and other client deliverables.
  • Manage assigned projects and workstreams, ensuring timely delivery, accuracy, and quality control.
  • Monitor policy developments and identify potential risks and opportunities for clients.

Client Service & Relationship Management

  • Support day-to-day client communication, coordination, and follow-up.
  • Build and maintain constructive relationships with clients and relevant stakeholders.
  • Understand client needs and translate them into clear workplans, research priorities, and practical recommendations.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain networks with policymakers, government agencies, public-sector representatives, business associations, industry stakeholders, civil society organizations, and other relevant partners.
  • Support the planning and implementation of stakeholder-engagement strategies, meetings, roundtables, consultations, and other engagement activities.

Business Development

  • Support business-development activities, including market intelligence, proposal drafting, development of strategic ideas, and participation in client pitches.
  • Contribute to identifying new client opportunities and developing service offerings.

Team Collaboration & Leadership

  • Work closely with colleagues to deliver integrated advisory and public-affairs solutions.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, respectful, and high-performing working environment.
  • For Consultant level: Lead workstreams and selected client projects; mentor and support junior team members.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Public Policy, International Relations, Economics, Communications, Business, or another relevant discipline.
  • Strong understanding of Vietnam’s government structure, policy-development processes, and regulatory environment.
  • Excellent research, analytical, report-writing, and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and project-management skills, with the ability to work proactively and effectively under deadlines.
  • Professional fluency in written and spoken English and Vietnamese.

Experience engaging with regulatory bodies, ministries, business associations, or industry stakeholders is an advantage.

Experience by Level

Assistant Consultant

  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in Public Affairs, Government Relations, Policy/Legal Consulting, Trade Associations, or related fields
  • Supports research, stakeholder engagement, project execution, client servicing, and business-development activities under the guidance of senior colleagues.

Consultant

  • 3–5+ years of relevant experience, with a demonstrated record of managing client accounts and delivering advisory projects
  • Takes greater ownership of client relationships and project delivery; leads workstreams, contributes to strategic advice and business development, and mentors junior team members.

Preferred Profile

  • Experience in a consulting firm, corporate public-affairs/government-relations function, law firm, trade association, government agency, or international organization.
  • Ability to assess the business implications of regulatory and policy developments.
  • A professional network across government, industry, business associations, or policy communities in Vietnam is a strong advantage.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, integrity, and a genuine interest in Vietnam’s evolving policy and business environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
