The posting

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced public affairs and strategic advisory professional to help clients navigate Vietnam's policy, regulatory, and stakeholder landscape.

As a Consultant, you will own client relationships and lead the delivery of advisory projects, from research and analysis through to stakeholder engagement and strategic recommendations. You will turn complex policy and regulatory developments into clear, actionable advice on public policy, market entry, regulatory, and broader business challenges in Vietnam. You will also contribute to business development and support the growth of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Advisory & Project Delivery

  • Lead research and analysis on public policy, legislation, regulations, and market developments, and assess their business implications for clients.
  • Develop strategic advice on policy, regulatory, market-entry, and stakeholder-management challenges in Vietnam.
  • Own the quality of client deliverables, including analytical reports, briefing notes, and presentations, and review work produced by junior colleagues.
  • Lead projects and workstreams end to end, managing timelines, scope, resources, and quality control.
  • Monitor policy developments proactively and advise clients on emerging risks and opportunities.

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as a primary day-to-day point of contact for assigned clients, building trusted, long-term relationships.
  • Understand client objectives and translate them into clear workplans, research priorities, and practical recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the scope and value of existing client engagements.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain networks with policymakers, government agencies, public-sector representatives, business associations, industry stakeholders, civil society organizations, and other relevant partners.
  • Design and lead stakeholder-engagement strategies, including meetings, roundtables, consultations, and other engagement activities.

Business Development

  • Contribute to business development through market intelligence, proposal writing, strategic idea development, and client pitches.
  • Identify new client opportunities and help shape new service offerings.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Mentor, coach, and support Assistant Consultants and junior team members, including reviewing their work and supporting their professional development.
  • Work closely with colleagues across functions to deliver integrated advisory and public-affairs solutions.
  • Help foster a collaborative, respectful, and high-performing team culture.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Public Policy, International Relations, Economics, Communications, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Public Affairs, Government Relations, Policy or Legal Consulting, Trade Associations, or related fields. A background in a consulting firm, corporate GR/PA function, law firm, government agency, or international organization is preferred.
  • Proven track record of managing client accounts and delivering advisory projects. Experience mentoring junior colleagues is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of Vietnam's government structure, policy-making processes, and regulatory environment, and the ability to assess their business implications.
  • Experience engaging with ministries, regulatory bodies, business associations, or industry stakeholders. An established network across these communities is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent research, analytical, writing, and presentation skills, with strong project-management abilities and the capacity to deliver under tight deadlines.
  • Professional fluency in written and spoken English and Vietnamese.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and integrity, with a genuine interest in Vietnam's evolving policy and business environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
