Job Description

CNBC Councils are exclusive membership communities that bring together leading C-suite executives across industries. Through curated programming, candid peer exchange, industry insights, and high-impact events, members gain opportunities to connect, learn, and engage with the issues shaping business today.

CNBC is seeking a Membership Manager to drive new-member sales across its portfolio of C-suite Councils, including the CNBC CEO Council, CNBC CFO Council, CNBC Technology Executive Council, and CNBC Workforce Executive Council. This is a hands-on new-business sales role focused on prospecting, developing a strong pipeline of qualified executives, and converting prospects into members.

Reporting to the Membership Director, the Membership Manager will manage opportunities throughout the sales cycle and work closely with the broader Membership team to achieve shared membership and revenue goals. The ideal candidate is a proactive, creative salesperson who can build relationships with senior executives, develop targeted approaches to new-business development, and clearly communicate the value of CNBC Councils.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the full new-member sales cycle, from prospecting and pipeline development through lead nurturing, negotiation, closing, and handoff for onboarding.
  • Contribute meaningfully to shared new-membership and revenue goals across the CNBC Councils portfolio.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified C-suite executives and senior leaders across priority companies and industries.
  • Develop creative, targeted prospecting strategies through direct outreach, referrals, executive introductions, industry events, small gatherings, and other relationship-building opportunities.
  • Craft tailored sales messaging that connects the value of CNBC Councils to each prospect’s role, company, and business priorities.
  • Source, vet, and recruit members who meet each Council’s criteria and strengthen the quality of its executive community.
  • Respond promptly to inbound inquiries and convert qualified interest into membership opportunities.
  • Build trusted relationships with C-suite prospects and the stakeholders involved in membership decisions, including communications, marketing, and executive-office leaders.
  • Maintain accurate and timely Salesforce records and use pipeline data, performance trends, and market insights to prioritize opportunities and refine sales approaches.
  • Partner with Membership Engagement, Operations, Marketing, Editorial, and Events teams on coordinated recruitment efforts and a smooth transition from prospect to member.
  • Provide regular updates on sales progress, pipeline health, risks, and opportunities, and share prospect insights that can strengthen Council positioning and support future growth.

Additional Requirements:

  • Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV through Versant | Versant Careers to be considered
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Hybrid: Contribute from the office a minimum of three days per week. This role is primarily based in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, with the option to work from Versant headquarters in midtown Manhattan one day per week.

At CNBC Headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, you’ll have access to great perks and amenities:

  • Sweat it out -- Free onsite fitness center with state-of-the-art equipment, plus daily group classes
  • Eat up -- Gourmet cafeteria with daily specials plus soup and salad bars
  • Extras -- Dry cleaning

Don’t have a car? No problem! We offer free shuttle transportation to and from multiple locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Hoboken and Jersey City

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $100,000-$140,000. Bonus eligible

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success generating leads, managing a pipeline, and closing new business.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build credibility and relationships with C-suite executives and other senior decision-makers.
  • A creative, resourceful approach to prospecting and developing new sales opportunities.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, including experience using Salesforce or a comparable CRM to manage pipeline activity, track performance, and inform sales decisions.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
