Job Description

Join our ASPIRE Global Service Centre, the heart of Version 1’s Managed Services operation, where automation, AI and continuous improvement are transforming how IT services are delivered.

We’re looking for an experienced L1/L2 IT Service Desk Analyst to join a customer-facing team in Edinburgh. You’ll be the first point of contact for technical support, working directly with the customer’s JIRA-based ITSM environment and supporting technologies across Microsoft 365, Windows, Active Directory, AWS, Azure and VMware.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving problems, working directly with users and delivering a high-quality IT support experience.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide L1/L2 technical support across phone, email and chat.
  • Own incidents and service requests from logging and triage through to resolution or escalation.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and access issues.
  • Support Microsoft 365, Windows, Active Directory and Group Policy environments.
  • Manage incidents and requests through JIRA / ITSM tooling.
  • Work to agreed SLAs, ensuring clear communication and accurate ticket updates.
  • Monitor system alerts, perform routine health checks and maintenance, and proactively identify issues.
  • Support software updates, patching, backups and system deployments.
  • Contribute to knowledge articles, service improvements and IT projects.
  • Collaborate with specialist technical teams on more complex incidents.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2 to 5 years' experience in IT support / Service Desk environments.
  • Strong L1/L2 troubleshooting and incident management experience.
  • Hands-on experience with JIRA, ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows, Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes and best practices, with ITIL v4 certification desirable.
  • Exposure to AWS and/or Azure is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server, VMware and Linux is beneficial.
  • Strong customer service, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in a rotating shift environment.
  • BPSS / SC / CTC clearance eligibility or clearance is mandatory.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

The numbers game

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
