Description

This is a full-time position with Digital Guru, a managed service provider (MSP) based in Edina, MN. Digital Guru is owned by Vertin. Day to day, you’ll work for Digital Guru and report to Brian, while partnering closely with Vertin’s accounting team on month-end close and shared financial processes.

As Digital Guru’s only accounting team member, you’ll own the day-to-day billing cycle and keep customer accounts current. No two days look the same, and you’ll have the support and training to grow alongside a business that’s still evolving.

What you’ll do

  • Process accounts receivable and accounts payable, including following up with customers by phone to collect payment (about half your time)
  • Prepare and review invoices, expense reports and purchase orders, using sharp thinking to catch errors, missing items and pricing issues (roughly 20 invoices per week)
  • Match and code about 150 monthly expenses to the correct accounts
  • Answer invoicing questions from customers ranging from midsize businesses to individuals, and help cover the main phone line (around 5 calls per day)
  • Support month-end and year-end close, including updating financial spreadsheets and organizing records for audits
  • Reconcile bank statements monthly and resolve discrepancies
  • Communicate with vendors, customers and internal teams on billing matters

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with one remote day per week. Month-end close may require some additional hours, including occasional weekend work.

Requirements

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, including A/R, A/P and invoicing
  • Accounting and invoicing experience at a managed service provider (MSP) or in the technology space
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Patience and composure when working with frustrated or upset customers, plus clear, professional communication
  • Strong attention to detail, organization and time management
  • Comfort working independently and building relationships across departments
  • Adaptable and coachable in a changing business environment

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
  • Experience with Syncro
