Job Description

he Project Manager – Global Services NPDI, Power Acceleration is responsible for driving the timely execution and global service readiness of new product development and introduction (NPDI) initiatives across Vertiv's Power portfolio.

This role serves as the Global Services project management lead for assigned NPDI projects, ensuring that service requirements, operational readiness, technical documentation, training, service tools, and regional deployment activities are incorporated into the product development lifecycle and completed in alignment with program milestones.

Working in close partnership with Product Management, Engineering, NPDI Program Management, Global Services Technology, regional Services teams, Training, Marketing, and other cross-functional stakeholders, the Project Manager ensures that Power product launches are supported by the necessary service capabilities to enable effective execution from launch through post-launch stabilization.

The role operates within the Global Services PMO governance framework, providing structured project planning, milestone tracking, risk management, stakeholder alignment, and escalation management. A key objective is to accelerate Power NPDI execution by identifying dependencies early, improving cross-functional coordination, standardizing service readiness deliverables, and ensuring regions are prepared to support new products at launch.

Key Responsibilities

1. NPDI Project Execution and Acceleration

  • Lead assigned Global Services workstreams across the Power NPDI portfolio, from project initiation through launch and post-launch stabilization.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans aligned with product development gates, critical milestones, dependencies, and launch dates.
  • Coordinate service deliverables across functions to ensure readiness activities progress in parallel with product development.
  • Identify schedule constraints, resource gaps, bottlenecks, and opportunities to accelerate execution without compromising quality or service readiness.
  • Drive accountability for deliverables, owners, predecessor activities, and completion dates.
  • Maintain visibility into project status, critical-path activities, milestone adherence, and launch readiness.

2. Global Service Readiness

  • Ensure service requirements are identified early and incorporated into NPDI plans based on product and service complexity.
  • Coordinate the development and readiness of service deliverables, including: Service procedures, work instructions, and maintenance documentation. Method of Procedure (MOP), troubleshooting guidance, and technical manuals, as applicable. Service tools, test equipment, spare parts, and field support requirements. Technical training, training materials, and regional knowledge transfer. Warranty, service offering, and support model requirements. Digital service capabilities, including field service applications, reporting, knowledge tools, and service technology integrations, where applicable. Regional deployment plans and post-launch support arrangements.
  • Validate that applicable deliverables are complete, reviewed, and available before launch.
  • Coordinate launch readiness assessments and track outstanding gaps through resolution or formal escalation.

3. Cross-Functional and Regional Leadership

  • Serve as the primary Global Services PMO project management contact for assigned Power NPDI initiatives.
  • Partner with Power Engineering, Product Line leadership, NPDI Program Managers, Global Services Technology, and regional Services organizations to align deliverables and priorities.
  • Engage regional stakeholders and subject-matter experts to confirm service requirements, resource availability, training needs, and operational readiness.
  • Facilitate project meetings, working sessions, milestone reviews, and issue-resolution discussions.
  • Communicate project changes, decisions, dependencies, and support requirements to relevant stakeholders.
  • Drive clear ownership and timely resolution of cross-functional and regional actions.

4. Governance, Risk, and Escalation Management

  • Execute projects in accordance with Global Services PMO and NPDI governance standards.
  • Maintain accurate project schedules, status reports, action logs, risk registers, issue logs, and decision records.
  • Monitor service deliverable completion and gate readiness, ensuring Global Services reviews are completed before applicable gate approvals.
  • Identify risks to launch timing, service quality, regional readiness, and resource capacity; develop mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Escalate unresolved risks, overdue deliverables, resource constraints, and critical-path impacts to the appropriate functional and leadership stakeholders.
  • Provide concise, data-driven status updates for PMO leadership, project governance forums, and executive reviews.

5. Process Standardization and Continuous Improvement

  • Apply standardized project management practices, templates, readiness checklists, and reporting mechanisms across Power NPDI initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify project execution, eliminate unnecessary handoffs, and improve the efficiency of service readiness activities.
  • Tailor project plans and workstreams according to product type, technical complexity, service impact, and regional deployment requirements.
  • Capture lessons learned and implement improvements to strengthen future NPDI execution.
  • Contribute to portfolio visibility, resource planning, and continuous improvement of Global Services NPDI processes.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, Operations, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of project management experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in a global or matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated experience managing project schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and stakeholder commitments.
  • Experience coordinating product launches, new product introduction, engineering programs, service readiness, or operational deployment.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive accountability without direct reporting authority.
  • Experience preparing project status reports, facilitating governance reviews, and escalating risks with clear recommendations.
  • Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence, or equivalent platforms.
  • Ability to work across time zones and collaborate effectively with global teams.

Preferred

  • PMP certification or equivalent formal project management training.
  • Experience with power infrastructure, UPS systems, power distribution, electrical equipment, data center infrastructure, or related technical products.
  • Experience in NPDI, NPI, product lifecycle management, engineering change management, or product launch governance.
  • Familiarity with field service operations, technical documentation, service training, warranty processes, and spare parts readiness.
  • Experience with Agile, hybrid, or phase-gate project management methodologies.
  • Experience with digital service enablement, enterprise service applications, or technology-enabled field service transformation.

Core Competencies

  • Execution and accountability: Drives deliverables to completion and maintains focus on launch commitments.
  • Acceleration mindset: Anticipates bottlenecks, resolves dependencies, and identifies opportunities to shorten delivery timelines.
  • Cross-functional leadership: Builds alignment across Engineering, Product Management, Services, Technology, and regional teams.

  • Global collaboration: Works effectively across regions, cultures, and time zones.
  • Structured problem-solving: Uses data, schedules, and measurable outcomes to prioritize work and resolve issues.
  • Continuous improvement: Simplifies processes while maintaining the appropriate level of governance and readiness.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
