We are currently seeking a Senior Specialist, EMEA Materials Master Data Governance - to join our dynamic team in Nove Mesto or Cluj!
About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, EMEA Materials Management Excellence, this senior individual contributor supports the operational design and leads the day-to-day implementation and administration of the EMEA Materials Management Master Data Governance Framework. The Senior Manager retains overall accountability for the governance strategy, framework, operating model, and performance. The role combines deep materials-management knowledge with data governance, analytical, process-improvement, and stakeholder-management capabilities. It coordinates a network of site data owners and stewards without direct people-management responsibility.
What you will be doing -
Materials Management Master Data Governance Framework
- Support the Senior Manager in designing and establishing the EMEA Materials Management Master Data Governance Framework, and coordinate its deployment, documentation, administration, and continuous improvement in alignment with global policies and business requirements.
- Define data domains, ownership, stewardship responsibilities, decision rights, approval workflows, controls, and escalation paths.
- Establish governance routines, site reviews, data-quality forums, and a sustainable network of data owners and stewards across EMEA.
- Maintain data dictionaries, business rules, standards, process documentation, and auditable governance records.
Master Data Standards & Planning Parameters
- Define and govern standards for material master attributes and critical planning parameters, including lead times, safety stock, reorder points, lot sizes, minimum order quantities, order multiples, planning methods, sourcing rules, and planning calendars.
- Partner with functional owners to establish clear creation, change, approval, and periodic-review processes for critical master data.
- Drive harmonization and standardization across plants while ensuring justified local or business-specific requirements are controlled and documented.
Data Quality, Compliance & Issue Resolution
- Define and monitor data-quality KPIs covering accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness, and governance compliance.
- Develop dashboards, exception reports, validation controls, and recurring audits to identify master data defects and compliance gaps.
- Lead root-cause analysis and coordinate corrective and preventive actions for recurring data issues affecting supply, inventory, production, or customer delivery.
- Provide transparent reporting on risks, overdue actions, governance maturity, and improvement progress to EMEA Materials Management leadership.
Systems, Transformation & Data Readiness
- Serve as the Materials Management data governance SME for Oracle ERP, Kinaxis Maestro, analytics, automation, and other regional transformation initiatives.
- Define business data requirements and support data profiling, cleansing, mapping, migration, testing, business validation, cutover, and stabilization activities.
- Ensure new processes, system enhancements, and integrations incorporate appropriate data ownership, controls, and sustainable maintenance routines.
- Partner with IT and data teams to improve automation of validation, workflow, monitoring, and exception management.
Business Partnership, Training & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with Materials Management, Supply Planning, Inventory, Production Planning, Purchasing, Procurement, Manufacturing, Finance, IT, and Global Master Data teams.
- Develop and deliver role-based training, standard work, guidance, and coaching for data owners, stewards, planners, buyers, and master data users.
- Promote accountability and adoption of governance standards through structured communication, facilitation, and site engagement.
- Identify and implement opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate master data processes across EMEA.
Up to 20% travel.
What will make you successful –
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Materials Management, Supply Planning, Inventory Management, Master Data, Data Governance, or Supply Chain Analytics within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of material master data, MRP, planning parameters, inventory policies, purchasing, production planning, and material-flow processes.
- Experience establishing or operating data governance, master data management, data-quality, or stewardship processes.
- Strong analytical, root-cause problem-solving, facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive standardization in a regional matrix organization.
- Full professional proficiency in English.
Preferred
- Hands-on experience with Oracle ERP, Kinaxis Maestro / RapidResponse, Power BI, SQL, or comparable supply chain and analytics platforms.
- Experience with data migration, system implementation, workflow automation, and data-quality monitoring tools.
- Lean Six Sigma, APICS CPIM/CSCP, DAMA, or comparable certification.
- Experience in a multi-site, multinational manufacturing environment, including ETO, CTO, or MTS operations.
