What You'll Do
Responsibilities may include:
- Assist veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians with examinations, diagnostics, and treatments
- Safely restrain dogs and cats for examinations and medical procedures
- Prepare examination rooms, treatment areas, surgical suites, and medical equipment
- Assist with laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing
- Support surgical procedures and help prepare patients for surgery
- Monitor recovering patients and communicate any changes to the medical team
- Assist with radiographs and other diagnostic procedures
- Provide compassionate care to hospitalized and recovering patients
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment areas
- Accurately document treatments, observations, and patient information
- Help maintain an efficient and organized clinic workflow
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and team members
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a veterinary assistant, animal hospital assistant, kennel technician, veterinary receptionist, or veterinary support team member is preferred
- Experience in a general practice, surgical, urgent care, or high-volume veterinary setting is a plus
- Comfortable safely handling and restraining dogs and cats
- Interest in surgery, anesthesia, diagnostics, and patient care
- Dependable, organized, and able to take initiative
- Able to multitask and remain calm in a busy veterinary clinic
- Professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude
- Strong communication skills with clients and coworkers
- Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and continue developing new skills
- Commitment to compassionate and high-quality patient care
