We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated FULL TIME Veterinary Kennel Assistant to join our esteemed team at Border Animal Hospital. As a Veterinary Kennel Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent care and support to our animal patients and their owners. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the comfort, cleanliness, and well-being of the animals in our care, as well as assisting our veterinary staff with various tasks to facilitate the smooth operation of our hospital.

Located in Weslaco, Texas.

Qualifications:

  • Genuine passion for animals and a strong commitment to their welfare.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, team members, and veterinarians.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and protocols accurately.
  • Physical capability to lift, carry, and restrain animals of varying sizes.
  • Basic computer skills for record keeping and communication purposes.
  • Previous experience in a veterinary setting or animal care role is a plus.

Job duties include: -Walking and exercising dogs -Feeding and providing fresh water -Bathing and basic pet care -Administering medications as directed -Cleaning and maintaining kennels and resort areas -Providing safe, loving care to boarding and daycare pets -Assisting with customer service and communicating with pet parents -Monitoring pets for changes in behavior or health

The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, comfortable handling dogs and cats, and able to work as part of a team.
