A day in the life of a Sr. Manager, Merchandising, Icons Footwear at Vans looks a little like this.
The Sr. Manager, Merchandising, Icons leads the AMER regional merchandising strategy for Men's and Women's Icons footwear. Working closely with Global Product Merchandising and regional Planning, Sales, Marketing, and Marketplace teams, this role translates the global Icons vision into a compelling regional category strategy grounded in consumer, marketplace, and business insights. The role drives seasonal direction, marketplace alignment, and commercial performance across the Icons portfolio and reports to the AMER Merchandising leader.
Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.
- Lead the AMER category strategy for Men's and Women's Icons footwear, translating the global merchandising direction into a regional point of view that reflects consumer needs, marketplace dynamics, and the long-term potential of Vans Icons.
- Own the regional read of the Icons business, using product performance, consumer behavior, market trends, and competitive insights to identify opportunities, shape future assortments, and provide clear feedback to Global Product Merchandising.
- Partner with regional Planning, Sales, Marketing, and Marketplace teams to align seasonal priorities, product stories, channel strategies, and go-to-market plans that strengthen brand relevance and drive revenue, margin, and sell-through goals.
- Represent AMER in global and regional milestone meetings, including line reviews, regional feedback sessions, pre-line meetings, and internal marketplace launches, clearly communicating the regional strategy, opportunities, risks, and product needs for Men's and Women's Icons.
- Lead, develop, and inspire the regional Icons merchandising team, setting clear priorities and accountability while building a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and data-informed decision-making across the category and its cross-functional partners.
