Who You Are

You are an empathetic engineer. You pay attention to the long term implications of your design decisions and how they may affect future users of the application. Clarity is better than cleverness - simplicity is top of mind when writing code or designing new services. You know when to make the trade-off between getting work done and doing it perfectly.

About the Role

As a full stack developer, you will build both the backend and frontend for new services, as well as develop the tools, frameworks, and environments that enable future full stack engineers to excel. You will collaborate closely with the product team to ensure your service design is precisely aligned with our customers’ needs.

Responsibilities

  • Creating software design and architecture proposals
  • Planning, coordinating, and estimating the work and time required to deliver new features
  • Developing, deploying, and monitoring internal and customer-facing micro-services from code to Kubernetes
  • Implementing modern analytic and monitoring tools
  • Configuring CI to allow correct and rapid iteration on cod
  • Building and maintaining our web app, from component design through release
  • Developing features for our mobile app and shipping them
  • Working with design and product to turn mockups and user feedback into working, accessible interfaces

About You

  • 3+ years of experience working a full stack role
  • Experience as a tech lead or mentor
  • 2+ years working with Go, typed Javascript (TypeScript or Flow), and React
  • Experience writing, building, and deploying your own Docker images
  • Experience working with analytic and monitoring tools, such as Sentry, DataDog, Mixpanel, New Relic, etc
  • Professional experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience building production web apps and/or mobile apps
  • A good eye for details and experience working closely with designers

  • Contributor to open source projects
  • Experience in the Automotive industry or a love of cars
  • Prior work in small, agile teams

Security and Privacy Responsibilities

  • Participate in new hire and annual training for security and privacy
  • Treat data security and privacy as one of your primary job responsibilities
  • Report Security Incidents you discover as bugs
  • Get approval from the Security Team before adding new 3rd party software to our codebase
  • Explicitly consider security implications when doing PR reviews
