Who We Are

Vial Australia Pty Ltd is the Australian arm of Vial, a cutting-edge clinical research organization dedicated to advancing innovative therapeutics through efficient clinical trials. Vial Australia leverages local expertise and infrastructure to conduct high-quality clinical trials for Vial's extensive drug portfolio.

Our mission is to bring transformative medicines to patients by executing world-class clinical research in Australia. We combine Vial's innovative approach to clinical trials with Australia's robust regulatory framework and experienced clinical research community.

Vial Australia Pty Ltd operates as a key strategic partner in Vial's global clinical development programs, providing access to Australia's diverse patient populations and streamlined regulatory pathways. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of clinical research while accelerating the development of life-changing therapies.

What You'll Do

We are seeking a Medical Officer to join our clinical trial team as a contractor Sub-Investigator, working in support of the Principal Investigator.

This is an opportunity to contribute clinical expertise to the Phase 1b portion of our asthma study, an investigational bispecific antibody programme in adults with mild-to-moderate asthma, playing a pivotal role in ensuring participant safety, scientific integrity and adherence to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct informed consent discussions and eligibility assessments, and sign the investigator declaration
  • Perform and oversee study-specific procedures at protocol-defined timepoints
  • Support the Principal Investigator in all aspects of trial conduct, including protocol adherence, participant safety oversight and data integrity
  • Assess and monitor participant safety, manage adverse event reporting, and promptly escalate safety concerns to the Principal Investigator
  • Review and sign clinical documents, source documentation and case report forms contemporaneously, in compliance with ICH-GCP
  • Participate in scheduled investigator check-ins with the Principal Investigator and wider medical team
  • Collaborate with the research team, study coordinators and site staff to ensure smooth execution of study visits
  • Participate in investigator meetings and monitoring visits as required
  • Contribute medical expertise to discussions with ethics committees, sponsors and regulators where applicable

Location and working pattern

We operate from a private hospital in North Sydney, with a satellite site in the Sydney CBD. Inpatient dosing and monitoring take place at the hospital, and screening and follow-up visits can be conducted from the satellite site. You would work remotely when no participant visits are scheduled.

What You'll Bring

  • Medical registration with AHPRA
  • Previous involvement in clinical trials preferred but not essential; training will be provided
  • Experience in asthma or respiratory trials is favourable but not essential. Training on FeNO and spirometry will be provided
  • Familiarity with ICH-GCP guidelines and clinical research best practice
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality clinical research
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Availability to attend the hospital site for inpatient dosing and monitoring periods

Why You'll Love Working at Vial Australia

Innate curiosity. At our core, we embody an insatiable curiosity. Our journey into the realm of clinical trials was ignited by a first-hand understanding of the challenges involved. This drives us to constantly innovate, seek fresh ideas, and bring our vision of reimagining clinical trials to life.

Fostering autonomy. Autonomy is our guiding principle. We believe that when team members are entrusted with responsibility, they unleash their true potential. Our culture empowers people to take ownership and make a real impact.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
