At Kelvin Power, part of the global VINCI Energies group, we specialise in delivering engineering solutions that support the UK's evolving electricity transmission network.

As the energy sector continues to transform, we're looking for an experienced and motivated Transmission Network Specialist to join our growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on technically challenging projects across the UK electricity transmission sector, supporting grid connections, regulatory compliance and the development of critical energy infrastructure.

You'll play a key role in providing technical expertise, leading advisory projects and working collaboratively with clients, network operators and industry stakeholders.

The Role

As our Transmission Network Specialist, you'll take a leading role in delivering technical and regulatory advisory services across transmission network projects, including Competitively Appointed Transmission Owner (CATO), RIIO-T3 and Offshore Transmission Owner (OFTO) programmes.

You'll combine your technical expertise with commercial awareness and strong stakeholder management skills to support successful project delivery while ensuring compliance with the UK's evolving regulatory landscape.

What You'll Be Doing

Project Delivery & Leadership

  • Lead technical advisory and grid connection projects from initial planning through to completion.
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables and budgets to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Support the delivery of complex transmission infrastructure and offshore wind projects.

Technical & Regulatory Expertise

  • Provide specialist advice on UK electricity transmission regulations, grid connection requirements and industry standards.
  • Support regulatory submissions, technical assessments and compliance activities.
  • Advise on grid code compliance, connection agreements, equipment specifications and system integration.
  • Undertake or review power system studies to support transmission projects.
  • Maintain an understanding of evolving industry frameworks, including RIIO-T3, CATO and OFTO.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build effective relationships with developers, regulators, network operators, NESO and contractors.
  • Work collaboratively with internal engineering teams and external partners.
  • Present technical findings, recommendations and project updates to clients and senior stakeholders.

Risk Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and manage technical, commercial and regulatory risks.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports and project documentation.
  • Keep up to date with regulatory developments and emerging technologies.
  • Contribute to innovative solutions and improvements in project delivery.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with a proactive, collaborative approach.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Renewable Energy or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting regulatory submissions, regulatory reviews or transmission and distribution network publications, such as CSNP or ETYS.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK's electricity transmission and distribution regulatory frameworks.
  • Understanding of UK grid connection processes, Grid Codes and Security and Quality of Supply Standards (SQSS).
  • A solid technical background in electrical engineering and power systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and report-writing skills.
  • Confidence communicating with clients, regulators and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively across multiple projects.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with power system modelling software such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory or PSS®E.
  • Previous involvement in CATO, OFTO, RIIO or offshore wind projects.
  • Experience preparing grid connection applications or undertaking power system studies.
  • Knowledge of emerging developments within the UK's transmission network and wider energy transition.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
