About the Position

Steven Toyota is seeking a motivated, customer-focused Assistant Rental Car Manager to support daily rental operations, help grow rental revenue, and ensure an outstanding experience for every customer. This role works closely with the Rental Car Manager to coordinate vehicle availability, manage reservations, support the rental team, and maintain efficient operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dependable, organized professional with strong customer service and sales skills who wants to grow into a leadership role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily rental department operations, including reservations, vehicle assignments, and rental agreements.
  • Help manage fleet availability, vehicle cleanliness, maintenance coordination, and rental readiness.
  • Deliver excellent customer service throughout the rental process.
  • Promote rental services, identify sales opportunities, and help grow department revenue.
  • Assist with vehicle check-in and check-out, inspections, and documentation.
  • Monitor rental activity, utilization, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support scheduling, employee coordination, and daily workflow.
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow dealership procedures.
  • Work with other dealership departments to support customer needs and operational efficiency.

Compensation

Base Pay Plus Commission

Earn a competitive base salary with additional commission opportunities tied to performance and rental department results. This structure rewards strong customer service, sales performance, and contributions to department growth.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in automotive, rental car operations, sales, or customer service preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build relationships.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping.
  • Comfortable using computers and learning rental management systems.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Leadership experience is a plus.
