Steven Automotive Group is looking for a motivated, results-driven Used Car Buyer to join our growing team. We are a family-owned automotive group with six dealerships: Steven Kia, Steven Nissan, Steven Toyota, Steven Hyundai, Steven Honda, and Steven Ford.

The Opportunity

As a Used Car Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing quality pre-owned vehicles to support our dealership inventory. You will identify acquisition opportunities through auctions, trade-ins, private sellers, and other channels while ensuring vehicles are purchased at competitive prices and meet our inventory standards.

What You'll Do

  • Source and acquire quality pre-owned vehicles through auctions, trade-ins, private sellers, and other purchasing channels.
  • Evaluate vehicles based on condition, market demand, mileage, history, and resale potential.
  • Analyze market data, comparable listings, and current inventory to determine competitive purchase values.
  • Negotiate vehicle purchases to maximize profitability and maintain competitive acquisition costs.
  • Build relationships with auction representatives, wholesalers, private sellers, and other vehicle sourcing partners.
  • Appraise vehicles and assist with trade-in evaluations as needed.
  • Monitor used vehicle inventory levels and identify opportunities to meet dealership demand.
  • Coordinate vehicle purchases, transportation, inspections, and required documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, appraisals, and acquisition costs.
  • Work closely with Sales Managers, General Managers, and inventory teams to develop effective buying strategies.
  • Meet and exceed vehicle acquisition, profitability, and performance goals.

💰 Compensation

$55,000+ ANNUAL EARNING POTENTIAL

Compensation based on experience, qualifications, and performance, with the opportunity to increase earnings through successful vehicle acquisitions and results.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous automotive experience in used car buying, vehicle appraisals, wholesale, or automotive sales preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of used vehicle values, market trends, and inventory demand.
  • Ability to evaluate vehicle condition and identify potential reconditioning costs.
  • Analytical mindset with strong business judgment.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and results-driven.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-oriented environment.
  • Comfortable using automotive valuation tools, online marketplaces, and dealership software.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
