The posting

Virya Energy, founded in 2019 through the strategic partnership of Colruyt Group and its majority shareholder Korys, is a Belgian pioneer in sustainable energy solutions. Our activities span the complete energy value chain, from renewable energy development in Europe and Asia to energy distribution through DATS 24. Our portfolio encompasses our consolidated wind activities (formerly Eoly in Belgium and Eurowatt in France), solar energy projects, sustainable hydrogen development, and strategic investments in specialized energy industry services providers like GeoXYZ, DotOcean, and Marlinks.

Building on over two decades of wind energy expertise and pioneering work in sustainable hydrogen, we continue to expand our capabilities. At our headquarters, a growing team of professionals drives our development across all renewable energy sectors, delivering tailored energy solutions that accelerate the energy transition.

To further drive and professionalize the heavy-duty charging operations within our entity ‘Entent’, we are currently looking for a Freelance Project & Operations Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES: You play a key role in scaling a start-up and establish the necessary processes to run such business:

  • You identify and evaluate new charging infrastructure opportunities through technical and commercial site assessments.
  • You develop and define technical concepts and translate requirements into robust business cases.
  • You lead and drive development projects from initial feasibility analysis through to final investment decision (FID), and coordinate engineering partners, permitting activities, and key project milestones.
  • You ensure optimal performance of charging infrastructure assets and associated software platforms, and drive operational excellence by managing SLAs, resolving incidents, and coordinating technical interventions with service providers.
  • You act as the primary point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders, as well as shareholders, and foster effective collaboration by coordinating communication and full project alignment.
  • You have solid experience in project development and project management, and are familiar with permitting processes, engineering coordination, and operational asset management. An established network within e-mobility, EPC contractors, logistics, real estate development, or public authorities is considered a strong asset
  • You have a comprehensive understanding of an asset development project, including its financial viability, market relevance, technical design, regulatory requirements and operational timeline.
  • You have a good technical understanding (preferably within charging systems, energy infrastructure and associated software platforms), and can quickly assess both the technical feasibility and commercial potential of new sites.
  • You demonstrate a proven track record of successfully developing and/or leading operations within a fast-paced start-up environment.
  • You drive results through a proactive, hands-on approach and strong organizational skills.
  • You can build strong relationships with stakeholders and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English.
  • Please note that only candidates residing in Belgium with a valid residence and work permit will be considered.

OFFER:

  • A role in the cockpit of building a start-up into a professional, scalable organisation.
  • A temporary long-term assignment within a stimulating professional environment in a sustainable, fast-growing international industry.
  • A wide range of projects, each at different stages of development, ensuring continuous learning and growth.
  • An informal atmosphere with open communication, and colleagues who value teamwork.
  • Hybrid working model – Work from home 1–2 days per week for an optimal work–life balance.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
