Data is central to Visa’s strategy, innovation, and long-term growth. Across the company, we are focused on using data responsibly to create value for consumers, businesses, clients, partners, and communities around the world. Guided by Visa’s Data Values and our commitment to trusted, responsible data use, Visa is continuing to expand its data capabilities, strengthen its data-driven products, and identify new ways to support the future of digital payments.

Visa’s Data & AI Team, led by the Chief Data Officer, plays a key role in advancing this work across the enterprise. The team owns strategic initiatives related to data business strategy, product development, investment priorities, governance, policy, and marketplace execution. In close partnership with the Chief Privacy Officer, Technology teams, business units, regional teams, and the broader Visa data community, the Data & AI Team drives high-impact efforts shaping how Visa uses data to drive innovation and deliver trusted solutions at scale

The Data & AI Team is seeking Data Science interns to help develop insights, analytical frameworks, and models that inform business strategy, product development, operational performance, and client outcomes. As an intern, you will work with cross-functional partners across data science, product, technology, data & analytics, privacy, governance, and regional and global business teams to apply data-driven approaches to complex business challenges.

In this role, you may support activities such as exploratory data analysis, feature development, statistical modeling, machine learning, experimentation, forecasting, performance measurement, and decision modeling. You will help translate data into actionable insights, evaluate opportunities and tradeoffs, and support model-informed decisions that improve products, platforms, customer experiences, and business outcomes.

This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data science and decision science within a global company. You will contribute to meaningful analytical and modeling initiatives, strengthen your technical and business skills, and help advance responsible, data-driven innovation across Visa’s global business.

All Visa roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.

Potential responsibilities include:

  • Analyze large-scale datasets using modern, cloud-based data and analytics platforms, applying tools such as Claude Code, Python, SQL, Spark, and other cloud-native technologies.
  • Leverage governed data assets and reusable pipelines to conduct exploratory analysis, develop features, evaluate trends, and generate insights for business, product, client, and operational use cases.
  • Apply data science and decision science methods, including statistical analysis, machine learning, experimentation, forecasting, segmentation, optimization, performance measurement, and decision modeling.
  • Develop and evaluate models and decision frameworks that help teams understand business opportunities, assess tradeoffs, and make responsible, data-informed decisions.
  • Create and enhance dashboards and visualizations using platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau, and conversational BI tools to communicate trends, metrics, and performance.
  • Translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations and communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across data science, product, technology, data & analytics, privacy, governance, and regional and global partners
  • Recommend improvements to analytical workflows, tools, and processes with a focus on scalability, reuse, automation, and long-term business value.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
