Job Description

Role Summary:

Visa Marketing Services is a revenue-generating business function that develops and implements end-to-end Marketing solutions for Visa's clients.

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Marketing Automation to drive the roll-out of our new Marketing Automation and Personalization platform – Visa Marketing 360 (VM360) – in the Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands markets, from market entry through profitable scale. This is a newly created role and you will be the market-level domain expert and trusted advisor for our new Campaign CDP solution for internal teams and Visa clients in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

As the owner of VM360 for the Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Island (AUNZPI) markets, you will work in close partnership with two key stakeholders: the Marketing Services Lead, AUNZPI and the VM360 Asia Pacific (AP) Lead, who drives the regional framework, standards and playbooks from the Singapore Hub. Your focus is to localize, execute and scale VM360 in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands within the regional AP framework provided.

A second key priority will be driving client growth through lifecycle marketing advisory. You will work with financial institutions to assess and benchmark existing customer journeys, identify portfolio growth opportunities and design data-driven lifecycle communication strategies that improve card activation, engagement, usage, retention and long-term customer value.

As VM360 gains traction in the market, you will also support commercial opportunities, build a strong pipeline and help grow the business sustainably across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

What a Senior Manager, Marketing Automation Specialist does at Visa:

You will be the subject matter expert for the AUNZPI cluster on VM360:

  • Mastering the platform: develop deep expertise in how our marketing automation platform works including customer journey orchestration, CDPs, segmentation, event-based triggers, campaign automation, omnichannel messaging, mobile engagement, analytics, and data activation pipelines.
  • Championing the platform in AUNZPI: serve as the primary point of contact for platform operations, troubleshooting and escalation in the Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands markets, articulate the platform's value and attributes for different use cases, and lead onboarding and training programs for users and teams across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands ensuring consistent understanding and adoption of platform capabilities and processes.
  • Aligning with the AP framework: work alongside the VM360 AP Lead to ensure the Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands roll-out is aligned with the regional framework, standards, playbooks and go-to-market approach from AP and feed learnings and requirements back into the AP regional practice.
  • Speaking the language of compliance and security: work closely with the Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands markets team and Legal/Privacy teams to understand local data regulations (with particular depth in the Australian Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles, and the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020) and Pacific Islands where relevant and be able to address client concerns around data minimization, PII handling, and security.
  • Foundational technical knowledge: While dev/IT will handle integrations, you need to translate technical components (SDKs, APIs, events, data schemas) into business value for non-technical internal teams and clients, to scope realistically and brief delivery teams clearly.

To launch this to market in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, you will:

  • Localize the offering: adapt the regional go-to-market positioning for Visa issuers and merchants in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, in line with the framework set by the VM360 AP Lead.
  • Lead pre-sales in AUZNPI: Scope client needs, design solutions, develop proposals, and pitch the capabilities to senior stakeholders (CMOs, heads of marketing and product, digital leads at banks).
  • Own the AUNZPI P&L: own the Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands VM360 P&L, including your market pipeline and revenue targets. The Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands P&L will roll up into the overall AP VM360 P&L, so you will work closely with the VM360 AP Lead on forecasting, reporting, and performance.
  • Apply internal standards: adopt the playbooks, solution templates, and best practices developed at the AP level and apply them to the Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands markets, contributing market feedback and local best practices back to the regional team.
  • Partner with delivery: Hand-off implementations to our Global delivery team, ensuring clear briefs, realistic expectations, and smooth execution.
  • Lifecycle Growth Strategy & Client Advisory: Advise financial institutions on lifecycle growth strategies and customer engagement best practices by assessing existing communications and customer journeys to identify gaps and growth opportunities. Recommend incentive, offer and reward strategies to influence customer behavior and improve portfolio performance, while facilitating client workshops and presenting strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.

  • Experience in CRM, lifecycle marketing, growth marketing, consulting or customer engagement.
  • Experience working within financial services, cards, payments, loyalty or retail banking.
  • Strong understanding of customer journey design and behavioral marketing.

  • Financial and payments industry experience preferred.

Mindset & Attributes:

  • Builder & entrepreneur: You're excited to establish a new market offering in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. You thrive in ambiguity and enjoy translating regional frameworks into local processes and playbooks as the practice grows.
  • Self-directed and accountable: You own your market's pipeline, revenue and P&L. You proactively identify opportunities, drive deals forward, and take responsibility for outcomes.
  • Client-obsessed: You ask great discovery questions, listen more than you pitch, and design solutions around the client's business problem, not the tool.
  • Collaborative: You work well with cross-functional teams (sales, consulting, delivery, finance, legal) and across a matrix - partnering effectively with both the Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Island markets leadership and the AP Hub. You're a connector and advocate for both internal teams and clients.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
