Job Description

Visa is seeking a Senior Director of Product Management to lead strategy, modernization, commercialization, and growth across the Access portfolio.

The Access portfolio enables issuers, acquirers, processors, fintechs, gateways, technology partners, and developers to connect securely and reliably to Visa services, domestic rails, non-Visa schemes, and value-added services through scalable connectivity, integration, and onboarding capabilities.

This leader will define and execute a multi-year portfolio strategy focused on simplifying connectivity, reducing onboarding and implementation friction, modernizing legacy access capabilities, expanding scheme-agnostic reach, and accelerating adoption of strategic platform investments.

The successful candidate will establish portfolio priorities, investment strategies, roadmaps, migration plans, and commercialization approaches that improve both client outcomes and business performance while ensuring Access remains a resilient, scalable, and strategically differentiated platform.

The role partners closely with Technology, Architecture, Operations, Regional Product, Client Services, and Commercial teams to translate strategy into measurable growth, adoption, resiliency, and platform performance outcomes.

Why This Role Matters

Access is one of the foundational portfolios within Network Products and serves as the gateway through which clients connect to Visa capabilities.

As clients increasingly operate across multiple networks, processors, domestic schemes, cloud environments, and payment ecosystems, they require simpler and more flexible ways to access payment services without managing complex integrations for every market and network.

This role will help shape how Access evolves to:

  • Modernize connectivity and onboarding capabilities
  • Expand API-first and cloud-based integration models
  • Support localized and scheme-agnostic access strategies
  • Accelerate adoption of Visa services and value-added capabilities
  • Improve operational efficiency and scalability
  • Enable future growth through reusable platform capabilities

The role is responsible for ensuring that Access continues to support Visa's strategic priorities while balancing modernization, resiliency, regulatory requirements, growth opportunities, and client needs.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Portfolio Leadership

  • Define and execute the multi-year strategy for the Access portfolio.
  • Develop portfolio roadmaps aligned to Network Products objectives and company priorities.
  • Translate client, market, competitive, technology, and regulatory trends into strategic investment recommendations.
  • Establish portfolio priorities, investment trade-offs, and funding recommendations.
  • Build business cases supporting growth, modernization, expansion, and migration initiatives.
  • Drive portfolio governance, dependency management, and prioritization across Product, Technology, Operations, and Commercial teams.
  • Ensure roadmap investments are tied to measurable business outcomes and strategic objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, consolidate, modernize, or retire products and capabilities.
  • Present portfolio strategy, investment recommendations, and business outcomes to senior leadership.

Access Modernization & Migration

  • Lead modernization strategies across APIs, cloud connectivity, onboarding, gateways, integration platforms, and network access capabilities.
  • Establish migration strategies that drive adoption of modern platform capabilities while minimizing client disruption and operational risk.
  • Partner with Technology and Architecture to improve scalability, resiliency, supportability, security, and platform reuse.
  • Drive reduction of technical debt and legacy platform dependencies.
  • Simplify onboarding and implementation experiences through platform transformation initiatives.
  • Define modernization business outcomes including adoption, migration, efficiency, and operational improvements.
  • Ensure modernization investments remain closely aligned to client value, growth objectives, and platform sustainability.
  • Maintain executive visibility into migration progress, investment needs, risks, and dependencies.

The Access strategy includes modernization of API-first capabilities, cloud connectivity, Visa Cloud Connect, VisaNet Connect APIs, modernization of connectivity infrastructure, and migration to monetized and modernized access capabilities.

Scheme-Agnostic & Ecosystem Expansion

  • Define strategies that simplify client access to domestic rails, non-Visa schemes, localized payment ecosystems, and value-added services.
  • Expand the reach of Access capabilities across additional networks, payment infrastructures, and ecosystem participants.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce integration complexity and create common connectivity patterns across networks and markets.
  • Support localization, domestic processing, and regional requirements while maintaining a scalable global platform strategy.
  • Evaluate ecosystem and partnership opportunities that increase platform reach and market impact.
  • Drive platform capabilities that enable broader distribution of Network Products and value-added services.
  • Ensure scheme-agnostic expansion is supported by clear business value, adoption strategies, and operational readiness.

The Network Products strategy positions Access as the value stream responsible for helping clients access value-added services, domestic rails, non-Visa schemes, and localized processing through simpler multi-rail integration models.

Commercialization & Adoption

  • Partner with Pricing, Finance, Regional Product teams, and Commercial organizations to develop adoption and commercialization strategies.
  • Drive adoption of strategic Access capabilities through clear migration, activation, and go-to-market plans.
  • Expand distribution of value-added services through Access channels and platforms.
  • Establish measurable adoption, utilization, migration, and growth objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to increase platform reach, ecosystem engagement, and revenue contribution.
  • Ensure commercial readiness is incorporated into product plans, roadmap decisions, and launch activities.
  • Support executive client discussions, strategic partner engagements, and commercialization programs.
  • Monitor adoption performance and use insights to refine priorities, investment decisions, and roadmap sequencing.

Commercial readiness, ecosystem expansion, modernization, revenue growth, VAS reach, and platform adoption are core components of the FY27 Network Products strategy.

AI & Product Operating Model Innovation

  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, advanced analytics, and intelligent workflows across the Access portfolio.
  • Drive adoption of AI-enabled tools and capabilities that improve product management, portfolio planning, commercialization, operational efficiency, and decision quality.
  • Partner with Product, Technology, Data Science, and Operations teams to evaluate and prioritize AI-enabled investments.
  • Improve portfolio planning, reporting, dependency management, roadmap development, and decision-making through scalable AI-enabled approaches.
  • Champion modern product-management practices that increase speed, productivity, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Measure the impact of AI-enabled initiatives using defined business and operational metrics.
  • Ensure AI initiatives adhere to Visa governance, privacy, risk management, and responsible AI principles.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Product Managers.
  • Establish high standards for product strategy, roadmap development, lifecycle management, and execution.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive disciplined prioritization and portfolio management practices.
  • Build strong partnerships across Technology, Architecture, Operations, Commercial, and Regional Product organizations.
  • Develop future product leaders and strengthen overall product-management capabilities within the organization.

Leadership Profile

  • Enterprise-oriented product leader who can connect platform strategy, client needs, technology investments, and commercial outcomes.
  • Strategic thinker with the discipline to convert a long-term vision into sequenced investments, measurable outcomes, and executable roadmaps.
  • Influential cross-functional leader who can drive alignment without relying solely on direct authority.
  • Decisive portfolio manager who can prioritize across modernization, growth, resiliency, regulatory requirements, and client commitments.
  • Effective people leader who develops strong product talent, establishes accountability, and raises the quality of product-management practices.
