Job Summary

AI Security Engineer V supports the development, implementation, testing, and operation of controls and technical capabilities that enable the secure adoption and use of artificial intelligence across Vistra. The role applies experience across cybersecurity, cloud, automation, development, data, and emerging technologies to implement controls, develop solutions, automate processes, and evaluate AI technologies.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

Independently execute AI Security initiatives based on established objectives, requirements, and technical direction.

• Develop, implement, and support AI Security controls, automation, integrations, and technical capabilities.

• Support assessments and technical evaluations of AI applications, models, agents, platforms, and supporting technologies.

• Build and execute proofs of concept, prototypes, and technical evaluations for AI and security technologies.

• Implement and test controls for access, data protection, monitoring, misuse, vulnerabilities, and unintended behavior.

• Translate defined requirements into technical configurations, solutions, automation, and implementation activities.

• Contribute to AI Security standards and guidance; research emerging technologies, threats, and security capabilities.

• Collaborate across enterprise teams; document and communicate findings, progress, and recommendations.

• Continuously learn and adapt as AI technologies and security practices evolve, applying sound judgment and problem solving to ambiguous challenges.

Education, Experience & Skill Requirements

• Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to the skills below.

• 3+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, cloud, software development, automation, data, analytics, artificial intelligence, or a related technology discipline.

• Ability to independently execute technical work from defined objectives and direction.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through ambiguity and evolving requirements.

• Ability to quickly learn, evaluate, and apply emerging technologies.

• 2+ years of experience with cloud technologies, APIs, scripting, automation, security platforms, development technologies, or AI platforms is preferred.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Key Metrics

• Successful independent execution of assigned AI Security initiatives.

• Quality and reliability of implemented controls and technical solutions.

• Successful completion of proofs of concept and technical evaluations.

• Effectiveness of implemented AI Security controls.

• Reduction of manual processes through automation.
