The posting

Family Vision of Anderson, located in Anderson, South Carolina, is seeking an Associate Optometrist to join the practice in summer 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a new graduate or experienced Optometrist looking to step into independent private practice, deliver high-quality patient care, and build a long-term career in a well-established South Carolina practice known for personalized service and clinical excellence.

Why join us?

Family Vision of Anderson, established in 1960, is a respected independent private practice known for delivering thorough eye health and vision evaluations with a strong commitment to patient education, trust, and lifelong relationships. The practice offers a wide range of specialized services, including specialty contact lens fittings, myopia management, dry eye diagnosis and therapy, diabetic care, glaucoma care, and cataract co-management. Focused on maintaining quality and excellence through a period of physician transition, the team is also embracing innovation through cloud-based EHR optimization, exploring AI scribing in the exam room, and adopting emerging technology to support a patient-centric approach. Free from the limitations of corporate optometry, the practice has built a strong reputation in the community for providing high-quality, personalized eye care the right way.

What you'll do:

As an Associate Optometrist, you'll provide comprehensive eye exams and medical office visits while exercising professional clinical judgment within the scope of state law. You'll work with advanced diagnostic technology, including the Oculus Keratograph 5M, Zeiss and Optovue OCT, Eidon wide-angle camera with autofluorescence, EyeRes anterior segment camera, TearLab, RetEval ERG, virtual visual fields, and low-level red light therapy. The role offers a full-time, 40-hour schedule with a template of 20 appointments per day, including 13 comprehensive exams and seven office visits.

Who you are:

The ideal candidate holds a Doctor of Optometry degree, is licensed to practice in South Carolina, and can provide three professional references. You bring strong clinical judgment, the ability to listen closely to patients, and the expertise to prescribe spectacles and contact lenses for optimal vision outcomes while ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing for medical optometry. Success in this role also requires a collaborative mindset, excellent communication skills, a commitment to continuous learning, and a genuine passion for delivering personalized care and advancing the practice’s reputation in the community.

Why you’ll love Anderson: Anderson offers the charm of a close-knit community with the everyday convenience and energy of South Carolina’s Upstate. Known as the Electric City, Anderson features a revitalized historic downtown with local restaurants, shops, breweries, public art, and year-round community events, while nearby Lake Hartwell provides easy access to boating, fishing, and outdoor recreation. Residents also benefit from a lower cost of living than many larger metro areas and a convenient location within driving distance of Greenville and Clemson, making it easy to enjoy additional dining, entertainment, and university-town amenities while still coming home to a more relaxed pace of life.

Benefits include:

  • Generous starting base salary with quarterly bonus potential
  • Signing or relocation support
  • License fee reimbursement, malpractice insurance coverage, and partial health insurance
  • AOA dues and continuing education conference expenses
  • Generous paid time off, including 17 vacation days and eight paid holidays
  • Retirement plan matching
  • Professional growth opportunities, including potential for partnership and future business expansion

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Optometry license in the state of South Carolina

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
