Job Description

We are seeking experienced Data Governance professionals to support a banking industry project focused on BCBS239 regulatory compliance, risk data aggregation, and reporting.

The successful candidates will collaborate with Finance, Risk Management, Data Management, and IT teams to implement data governance frameworks, improve data quality, document data lineage, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a Data Governance Subject Matter Expert (SME), working with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Drive data governance initiatives aligned with BCBS239 and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify Key Data Elements (KDEs) and conduct End-User Computing (EUC) criticality assessments.
  • Document end-to-end data lineage, data flows, and data aggregation processes.
  • Implement data quality controls, monitoring processes, and governance standards.
  • Define project milestones, governance structures, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Develop implementation plans aligned with the bank’s operating model.
  • Coordinate with BCBS239 program teams and ensure alignment across project workstreams.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops and manage project progress, risks, issues, and deliverables.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and progress updates for senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or regulatory transformation within financial services, preferably banking.
  • Experience in regulatory reporting, risk data, or data governance initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of data ownership, data quality, data lineage, and control implementation.
  • Understanding of BCBS239, RDARR, or similar regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and workshop facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience identifying KDEs and documenting end-to-end data lineage.
  • Familiarity with data governance tools such as Collibra.
  • Experience working with Finance, Risk Management, Accounting, or regulatory reporting teams.
  • Exposure to Japanese financial institutions or banking transformation projects.
  • Experience in project management, risk and issue tracking, and senior management reporting.
