SUMMARY:

The Corporate Trainer & Facilitator delivers highly interactive, engaging instructor-led training across the organization, both in person and virtually, with an emphasis on leadership and soft-skill development. The primary focus of this role is facilitating our signature programs, including Walden Way orientation, LEAP leadership series, and lunch-and-learns, along with CPR/AED/First Aid, role-based, and software training. The Corporate Trainer & Facilitator coordinates every aspect of these events from planning through completion in the LMS, leads train-the-trainer sessions for field Training Managers, and serves as the primary point of contact for the company-wide CPR certification program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate instructor-led training developed in-house or curated from vendors, both in person and virtually, including: Walden Way, our interactive orientation program LEAP, our leadership development series Lunch-and-learns on various topics for leaders and individual contributors CPR/AED/First Aid certification and Instructor certification courses Role-based training (when instructor-led) Software demonstrations and training
  • Use a highly interactive facilitation style, applying adult learning principles and techniques such as group discussion, questioning, role-play, activities, and games, to drive participation and knowledge retention
  • Draw on personal leadership experience and relevant, concise stories to connect concepts to real workplace situations and help participants apply what they learn
  • Create a psychologically safe learning environment that encourages open discussion, self-reflection, and practice, and skillfully manage group dynamics and sensitive conversations
  • Adapt delivery to fit the audience, group size, and format, and partner with presenters to keep presentations and handouts current before each session
  • Plan and coordinate all aspects of training events from start to finish, including but not limited to: Scheduling sessions, students and guest presenters, and reserving training rooms Confirming attendance with managers and supervisors and resolving scheduling conflicts Communicating with attendees, supervisors, and presenters through emails, agendas, calendar invitations, and reminders Advertising and promoting upcoming training opportunities across the organization Planning lunches, catering and refreshments, and ordering supplies and gifts within approved budgets Preparing attendee materials such as agendas, folders, handouts, name tents, and name tags Setting up and testing training rooms, audio-visual equipment, and virtual meeting platforms Coordinating schedules for out-of-town attendees, including individual meetings with department heads and travel timing
  • Manage training enrollments and record completions in the LMS accurately and on time
  • Collect and consolidate participant survey feedback, lead post-event debriefs, and recommend improvements to programs and events
  • Lead train-the-trainer sessions on all instructor-led training programs developed in-house for field Training Managers in all divisions, and provide coaching and feedback to support consistent delivery
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the company-wide CPR certification program: Train and certify new CPR/AED/First Aid instructors and support them as they begin teaching Troubleshoot instructor and program issues Coordinate with our CPR Training Center to keep instructor certifications, renewals, monitoring, and guideline updates current Maintain CPR training materials, forms, equipment, and supply inventory for instructors across all locations
  • Collaborate with L&D team members, department heads, and subject matter experts to prepare for sessions and continuously improve the learner experience
  • Maintain awareness of current trends in facilitation, virtual training tools, and CPR/First Aid guidelines
  • Ensure branding integrity is upheld
  • Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization
  • Other duties and assignments as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • Five-plus years of experience facilitating instructor-led training to adult learners in both in-person and virtual settings, with a strong focus on leadership development or soft skills.
  • Three-plus years of experience leading people in a supervisory or management role.
  • Experience coordinating training programs or events and leading train-the-trainer sessions is preferred.
  • Experience in the security industry or with a field-based workforce is a plus.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Engaging, confident presenter with a proven ability to facilitate in-person and virtual sessions for groups of all sizes, from individual contributors to senior leadership
  • Highly interactive facilitation style grounded in adult learning principles that draws insight from participants through questions, discussion, and activities rather than lecture
  • Skilled storyteller who draws on real-world leadership experience, keeping stories relevant, concise, and tied to the learning objective
  • Solid understanding of the behavioral and psychological principles behind leadership and soft-skill development, such as emotional intelligence, motivation, behavior change, and communication styles
  • Ability to read the room, manage group dynamics, and handle sensitive or emotionally charged discussions with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Strong event planning and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and multiple events with fluid or tight deadlines
  • Excellent business communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation skills)
  • Comfortable running virtual sessions (breakout rooms, polling, chat) and troubleshooting basic technology issues in the moment
  • Ability to coach other trainers and give constructive, actionable feedback
  • Proven ability to build and manage relationships with stakeholders across the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across divisions, functions, and levels
  • Certification in behavioral or personality assessments (e.g., DiSC, CliftonStrengths, MBTI) is a plus
  • Current CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor or Instructor Trainer certification is a plus

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations using the English language.
  • Ability to write reports, internal business correspondence, curriculum, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to create and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Adobe Acrobat (including creating fillable forms)
  • Presentation and audio-visual equipment (projectors, displays, microphones and speakers)
  • Ability to quickly learn new software programs well enough to demonstrate and train others on them

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:

  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
  • Current/valid state driver’s license

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Ability to travel to branch and client locations as needed to deliver in-person training, including occasional overnight travel.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work extended hours to support multi-day training events.
  • If not already certified, must be willing to obtain CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor and Instructor Trainer certification after hire.
  • Travel may be up to 25%
