Position Summary...

What you'll do...

Job Summary: Walmart Business is driven by a meaningful purpose: to save time, money, and hassle for businesses, nonprofits, and governments, allowing them to focus on their vital missions. This goal goes beyond just selling goods. It's about helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses, enabling nonprofits to maximize their resources, and assisting governments in improving services for their communities. As the Manager, Commercial Operations & Process Excellence for Walmart Business' Commercialization & Planning team, you will help build the operating foundation that enables the organization to execute consistently and scale effectively. You will be responsible for developing, documenting, governing, and continuously improving standard operating procedures (SOPs) and critical business processes across the functions supported by Commercialization & Planning. You will partner with subject matter experts and cross-functional stakeholders to understand how work gets done today, identify gaps and opportunities, design improved future-state processes, and translate complex workflows into clear, actionable documentation. This role goes beyond documenting existing processes. You will help simplify how teams work, reduce reliance on tribal knowledge, and create scalable operating standards that evolve with the business. Who You'll Work With:

  • Partner directly with Commercialization & Planning teams to understand, document, and improve critical business processes across Product Commercialization, Commercial Activation, Portfolio Planning, and Commercial Excellence.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Customer Care, Revenue Operations, Site Merchandising, Digital Experience, Membership, and other business partners to understand end-to-end workflows and dependencies.

Responsibilities: Process Design & Standardization:

  • Build and maintain a centralized framework for SOPs, process documentation, playbooks, process maps, and other operational resources.
  • Translate complex business requirements, workflows, and technical information into clear, concise, and actionable documentation.
  • Develop SOPs, process maps, checklists, RACI frameworks, decision trees, and other tools needed to drive consistent execution.
  • Establish standard templates and methodologies for documenting and improving business processes.

Process Governance & Knowledge Management:

  • Develop and maintain a centralized inventory of critical business processes and supporting documentation.
  • Conduct recurring audits to ensure SOPs and process documentation remain accurate and current as products, systems, and business requirements evolve.
  • Identify outdated or duplicative documentation and work with business owners to consolidate, update, or retire materials.
  • Help create an accessible source of truth that reduces reliance on tribal knowledge and enables associates to quickly understand how work gets done.

Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence:

  • Conduct root-cause analysis when process breakdowns, recurring escalations, or operational gaps are identified.
  • Translate business learnings and recurring issues into sustainable process improvements rather than one-time solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology, automation, and AI to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
  • Apply continuous-improvement principles to improve the effectiveness and scalability of Commercialization & Planning operations.

Implementation & Change Adoption:

  • Partner with process owners to implement new or revised processes across impacted teams.
  • Ensure impacted stakeholders understand new processes, responsibilities, and ways of working.
  • Support the development of communications, job aids, and other resources needed to drive process adoption.
  • Gather stakeholder feedback following implementation and identify opportunities for additional improvement.

Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Communications, Project Management, Education, or a related field OR equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in process improvement, project management, business operations, business analysis, knowledge management, or a related field.
  • Experience developing, documenting, or improving business processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders and subject matter experts.

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex information into simple, actionable content.
  • Strong process-mapping, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities.
  • Ability to identify root causes, challenge existing ways of working, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams.
  • Ability to influence and drive alignment across teams without direct authority.
  • Experience using collaboration, workflow, documentation, or project-management tools.

Adaptability:

  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and building structure where processes may not yet exist.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with detailed execution.
  • Willingness to adapt as organizational priorities, technologies, and ways of working evolve.

Preferred Qualifications: Process Excellence & Operational Experience:

  • Experience in process excellence, continuous improvement, operational transformation, or knowledge management.
  • Experience facilitating process-mapping, workflow-design, or continuous-improvement sessions.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar continuous-improvement methodologies.
  • Experience developing governance models, RACIs, operating procedures, or scalable business playbooks.

Business & Technology Experience:

  • Experience supporting B2B, eCommerce, Sales, Customer Success, Customer Care, Marketing, Product, or commercialization organizations.
  • Experience with process-mapping, workflow-management, knowledge-management, or documentation platforms.
  • Experience identifying opportunities for workflow automation and process digitization.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage technology, automation, and AI to improve productivity and operational efficiency.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
