What you'll do...

About the Role

The Manager, Technology Operations – Business & Product Strategy will help shape and execute strategies that improve how Marketplace sellers operate, resolve issues, improve performance, and access opportunities to grow on Walmart Marketplace.

This role sits at the intersection of business strategy, product, technology, analytics, and operations. You will identify high-impact seller and business problems, translate them into clear requirements and scalable solutions, and partner closely with Product, Engineering, Analytics, Risk, Compliance, and Operations to move initiatives from strategy through launch and measurement.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and analytical problem solver who is comfortable navigating ambiguity, influencing cross-functional teams, and moving between high-level strategy and hands-on execution. You understand how to connect customer needs, business priorities, data, and technology capabilities to deliver measurable outcomes.

Your work will help simplify the seller experience, improve seller performance and trust, reduce operational friction, and strengthen the overall health and growth of Walmart Marketplace.

About the Team

The Seller Performance organization helps Marketplace sellers understand what great performance looks like, resolve issues affecting their business, and access opportunities that help them grow.

Our team partners across Product, Engineering, Analytics, Risk, Compliance, Policy, Seller Support, Growth, and other Marketplace organizations to build scalable solutions that improve seller outcomes and strengthen customer trust.

What You'll Do

Business & Product Strategy

  • Identify and prioritize high-impact seller and business problems using seller insights, performance trends, operational data, and business priorities.
  • Translate complex problems into clear strategies, business requirements, workflows, decision logic, and scalable product or operational solutions.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to shape capabilities and priorities while owning business requirements, operating models, and outcomes.

Program & Seller Experience

  • Lead initiatives across areas such as seller performance, health, appeals, incentives, protections, eligibility, and growth as business priorities evolve.
  • Design solutions that improve seller transparency, self-service, issue resolution, and access to relevant programs and opportunities.
  • Develop pilots and new operating models, test approaches, and scale successful solutions across Marketplace.

Cross-Functional Execution & Measurement

  • Lead complex initiatives across Product, Engineering, Analytics, Risk, Compliance, Policy, Seller Support, Growth, and Business Operations from strategy through launch.
  • Define KPIs, measurement frameworks, and success criteria, and use quantitative and qualitative insights to evaluate impact and guide iteration.
  • Drive alignment on priorities, ownership, tradeoffs, dependencies, and execution while communicating recommendations and results to leadership.

How You'll Measure Success

  • Seller outcomes: Deliver solutions that improve the seller experience and enable sellers to operate successfully on Walmart Marketplace.
  • Scalable solutions: Build and operationalize capabilities and programs that address complex seller and business needs at scale.
  • Business impact: Demonstrate measurable impact against strategic Marketplace priorities through strong execution, adoption, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Bring

  • Strong strategic and analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to turn ambiguous problems into structured strategies and scalable solutions.
  • Experience working at the intersection of business, Product, Technology, Analytics, and Operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer and business needs into business and product requirements, workflows, business rules, or operating models.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives from strategy through implementation and measurement.
  • Strong analytical orientation with the ability to use data to identify opportunities, evaluate tradeoffs, and influence decisions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to influence across large, matrixed organizations.
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts and communicate clearly with both technical and business audiences.
  • A hands-on operating style with strong ownership, curiosity, and bias for action.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience; or 5+ years of experience in product operations, product management, business strategy, business operations, program management, or a related field.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives involving Product, Technology, Analytics, or Operations.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving experience using data to drive business decisions.
  • Experience translating business problems into structured requirements, processes, or scalable solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in eCommerce, online marketplaces, platform businesses, seller or merchant ecosystems, seller performance, risk, trust, compliance, incentives, or growth.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Operations, Product Management, or a related field and 9+ years of relevant experience; or 7+ years of experience in product operations, product management, business strategy, business operations, program management, or a related field.
  • Product management or product-adjacent experience, including requirements development and technology implementation.
  • Experience building or operating technology-enabled customer, seller, partner, eligibility, resolution, or rules-based programs.
  • Experience with experimentation, A/B testing, cohort analysis, or behavioral measurement.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Excel, or similar analytical tools.
  • Master's degree or MBA in Business, Economics, Engineering, Analytics, Product Management, or a related field.
  • Experience launching new capabilities and scaling them across a large organization.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
