You will collaborate across functions to translate complex business challenges into analytical approaches, ensuring data quality and effective model deployment. Your contributions will enhance Walmart’s ability to harness data for operational excellence and innovation within a dynamic, data-centric environment. About the team: Our team combines expertise in data engineering, software engineering, data science, and business analysis to deliver precise, production-ready solutions aligned with business goals. We develop enterprise-scale machine learning systems integral to every Walmart customer transaction, focusing on extracting and processing product attributes that ensure accurate taxation across all sales channels. Our work impacts every checkout and receipt, driving significant real-world outcomes. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, we apply advanced analytics, AI, and automation to innovate continuously, shaping how Walmart leverages data and machine learning to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience at scale. What you'll do:

  • Identify and assess data sources aligned with business requirements and quality standards to support analytics initiatives.
  • Develop and validate predictive models using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to solve complex business problems.
  • Design and implement data visualization solutions to effectively communicate insights to stakeholders and influence decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data-driven solutions and scalable model deployments.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and feature engineering to enhance model performance and accuracy.
  • Maintain and monitor deployed models, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with business objectives.

What you'll bring:

  • Proven expertise in data science, including advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and machine learning algorithms.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with data visualization.
  • Strong knowledge of data strategy, data quality standards, and data governance principles.
  • Experience in exploratory data analysis, model assessment, validation, and deployment at scale.
  • Ability to translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions using statistical and AI techniques.
  • Skilled in automation, MLOps, and natural language processing to enhance model performance and operational efficiency.
  • Effective communication skills to present insights and guide cross-functional teams.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Option 3: 6 years' experience in an analytics or related field

The ideal candidate would have knowledge of accessibility best practices and join us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
