Regional Process Safety Manager

Make an impact where safety, operations, and leadership come together.

We are looking for an experienced Regional Process Safety Manager to lead and strengthen Process Safety Management programs across an assigned group of facilities. In this highly visible role, you will serve as a technical expert and trusted partner to Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Safety, and Training teams, helping ensure our facilities operate safely, responsibly, and in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

This is a great opportunity for a process safety professional who enjoys being in the field, solving complex problems, influencing across multiple levels of an organization, and turning regulatory requirements into practical solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) programs across assigned facilities.
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Safety, and Training teams to identify hazards, reduce risk, and strengthen process safety practices.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, DHS, CFATS, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Plan and lead PSM audits, assessments, and reviews, identifying gaps, determining root causes, and driving corrective actions.
  • Communicate critical PSM/RMP performance, compliance concerns, deadlines, and recommendations to facility leadership, internal partners, and external agencies as appropriate.
  • Develop, review, and maintain health and safety programs, policies, procedures, and management-of-change processes.
  • Develop and deliver training that improves understanding of process safety requirements and helps reduce the frequency and severity of chemical-related incidents.
  • Prepare and communicate required reports, findings, and performance information.
  • Stay current on evolving process safety regulations, systems, technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Coach, mentor, and support PSM Coordinators across the organization, helping build process safety capability and consistency.
  • Influence and guide teams across multiple locations to ensure process safety expectations are understood and effectively implemented.

What You'll Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Environmental Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • At least 5 years of experience in comprehensive regulatory or compliance management involving areas such as OSHA, EPA, RCRA, the Clean Water Act, or similar requirements.
  • Hands-on experience supporting chemical processes covered by OSHA Process Safety Management standards.
  • Working knowledge of EPA Risk Management Plan and OSHA PSM requirements.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and translate regulatory requirements into practical operational solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all levels.
  • Strong organization, project management, and attention-to-detail skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel between assigned facilities as business needs require.

Preferred:

  • 5 years of relevant safety management experience.
  • 3 or more years of leadership experience.
  • Multilingual communication skills.

What Will Help You Succeed

We're looking for someone who:

  • Builds strong relationships with plant and corporate teams.
  • Can influence and lead without relying on direct authority.
  • Balances regulatory requirements with practical operational needs.
  • Approaches problems with urgency and strong attention to detail.
  • Is comfortable leading audits, identifying risk, and having constructive conversations when improvements are needed.
  • Enjoys coaching others and building a stronger process safety culture across multiple facilities.

Leadership Scope

This role does not currently have direct reports, but it carries significant leadership responsibility across the organization. You will provide technical direction, coaching, recommendations, and guidance to facility teams and PSM Coordinators throughout the assigned region.

Work Environment & Travel

  • Travel between assigned facilities will be required.
  • Occasional non-standard hours, including weekends, holidays, or extended shifts, may be necessary based on operational needs.
  • Required personal protective equipment must be worn in designated areas.
  • All company and departmental safety policies and procedures must be followed.

We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
