The posting

We are an established regional transportation, warehousing, and commercial operations provider serving the Greater Philadelphia and Tri-State corridor. With operations spanning dedicated motor carriage, freight staging, final-mile delivery, and specialized commercial logistics, our team prides itself on reliability, execution, and customer-first service. We operate our own fleet alongside tailored logistics workflows, creating an agile, fast-paced work environment where cross-functional problem solving and proactive communication drive everyday success.

We are seeking an experienced, proactive Logistics Coordinator / Dispatcher to oversee daily fleet movement and support core logistical functions across our operations. In this role, you will be the operational backbone connecting drivers, operations leadership, and customer accounts. You will manage active dispatch, build efficient routing schedules, monitor on-time deliveries, and step in across supporting logistical duties—including load documentation, staging coordination, and freight exception handling. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, communicates clearly with commercial drivers, and possesses the operational agility needed to keep trucks moving smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fleet Dispatch & Route Coordination: Assign daily routes, loads, and delivery stops to commercial drivers while maximizing asset utilization and ensuring driver hours-of-service (HOS) compliance.
  • Driver Communication & Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for company drivers on the road; address real-time routing delays, mechanical issues, weather detours, and access constraints at drop-off sites.
  • Shipment Tracking & Status Reporting: Monitor freight in transit across GPS tracking systems; provide proactive milestone updates, proof-of-delivery (POD) confirmations, and ETA adjustments to internal teams and customers.
  • Cross-Functional Logistics Support: Coordinate load handoffs between warehousing/dock personnel and road drivers, ensuring freight is staged, checked, and loaded accurately according to schedule.
  • Documentation & Compliance Oversight: Process bills of lading (BOLs), manifest records, trip sheets, and delivery receipts; ensure strict alignment with state and federal transportation safety guidelines.
  • Issue Escalation & Exception Management: Troubleshoot missed deliveries, refused freight, OS&D (over, short, and damaged) incidents, and detention delays rapidly to minimize operational bottlenecks.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 2–4 years of direct experience in freight dispatching, logistics coordination, or fleet support within a trucking, distribution, or transportation carrier environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of DOT regulations, driver compliance, Hours of Service (HOS), and standard commercial freight documentation (BOLs, manifests, rate confirmations).
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), fleet telematics/ELD platforms, and spreadsheet tools (MS Excel / Google Sheets).
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to maintain composure, clarity, and authority while coordinating with commercial drivers and customer contacts.
  • Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Strong organizational abilities, spatial planning aptitude, and quick decision-making skills to resolve transit disruptions in real time.

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $72,000 – $75,000 per year (commensurate with relevant dispatch and fleet coordination experience)

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
