Job Description
Job Summary Lead the global Intelligent Completion Systems product line as a strategic business, technology, and lifecycle-performance portfolio. Define the product strategy and multi-year roadmap; convert customer, market, competitor, and operational insight into prioritized investments; and manage the portfolio from concept and commercialization through growth, sustainment, and retirement. The role integrates downhole sensing, communication, flow control, surface systems, software, and digital optimization into scalable solutions that help customers manage zones, reduce interventions, protect well integrity, and improve production over the life of the well.
Responsibilities
QUALITY • Demonstrate a personal commitment to Quality & Service Delivery • Champion product reliability and service quality across hardware, electronics, software, interfaces, and integrated system performance. • Support critical incident and product-quality investigations, including root-cause analysis, corrective actions, customer communication, and lessons learned. • Use field performance, reliability, warranty, service-quality, and customer data to drive product improvement and prevent recurrence.
STRATEGY, PORTFOLIO, TECHNOLOGY & COMMERCIALIZATION • Own the global Intelligent Completion Systems strategy, value proposition, roadmap, portfolio priorities, and lifecycle decisions. • Translate customer, market, competitor, and field-performance insights into clear business cases, product requirements, and investment priorities. • Manage the portfolio as an integrated system covering downhole control, sensing, communication, surface equipment, software, and digital workflows. • Lead technology development and commercialization with Research, Development and Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Service Delivery, Sales, and Geozones. • Define launch plans, readiness criteria, pricing approach, sales enablement, proof points, and adoption milestones for new products and system offerings. • Promote modular design, standard interfaces, digital integration, and design-to-value to reduce cost, lead time, and deployment risk.
EXECUTION, SERVICE DELIVERY & LIFECYCLE SUPPORT • Define the global operating model from opportunity qualification through design, installation, handover, support, and lessons learned. • Set governance for system interfaces, standard workflows, design rules, configuration control, readiness reviews, procedures, and job closeout. • Ensure product and service readiness before release, including equipment, people, inventory, documentation, training, support, and escalation paths. • Work with Geozones to close capability gaps, certify locations, scale repeatable execution, and support first deployments, strategic tenders, and critical wells. • Turn field-trial, deployment, and installed-base learnings into product improvements, training, service procedures, lifecycle support plans, and roadmap actions.
FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE • Own product-line financial planning and performance, including revenue, margin, pricing, cost, forecast, budget, development investment, and portfolio profitability. • Prepare and maintain business cases for new products, platform extensions, partnerships, and major lifecycle investments, including expected value, risk, and return. • Drive profitable growth through portfolio mix, value-based pricing, cost reduction, standardization, product rationalization, service attachment, and recurring lifecycle revenue. • Review performance regularly and initiate corrective actions where commercial, development, or operational results are below plan.
COMMUNICATION & CROSS-FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIP • Lead through a global matrix and align Sales, Operations, Engineering, Research and Development, Service Delivery, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Digital, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and Geozone teams. • Establish portfolio governance and communicate priorities, roadmap status, investment needs, risks, decisions, and performance to leadership and key stakeholders. • Build alignment across adjacent product lines so Intelligent Completion Systems are integrated into broader well architectures and production-optimization solutions.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT • Develop a strong global community of product, application, technical-support, and service-delivery specialists with clear roles, competency requirements, and succession plans. • Set objectives, coach performance, create development opportunities, and retain critical technical and commercial talent. • Define training and certification requirements for sales, applications, operations, field personnel, and technical support; enable train-the-trainer deployment.
VISION & LEADERSHIP • Set a clear long-term vision for intelligent wells that connects sensing, control, automation, and digital optimization to measurable customer outcomes. • Challenge product-centric thinking and move the organization toward integrated, lifecycle solutions with single-point accountability for customer value. • Represent the product line in strategic planning, investment reviews, customer executive engagements, partnership discussions, and industry forums.
Skills/Education Required • Bachelor degree in engineering, science, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. • 10+ years of relevant energy-industry experience, including substantial experience in completions, production technology, intelligent wells, product management, applications, operations, technology development, or technical sales. • Demonstrated experience leading a product or solution portfolio, creating roadmaps, building business cases, and aligning cross-functional global teams. • Experience with complex downhole systems and the operational interfaces among hardware, electronics, sensing, communications, surface equipment, software, and data. • Experience with customer-facing technical and commercial engagements, strategic tenders, field trials, and commercialization of new technology. • Strategic product management, portfolio governance, roadmap development, lifecycle management, and commercialization. • Strong business and financial judgment with the ability to connect technical choices to customer value, risk, growth, margin, and return on investment. • Systems thinking and the ability to manage complex technical and operational interfaces across the full solution lifecycle. • Strong knowledge of completion design, well integrity, production optimization, field execution, and service-quality risk. • Customer-led market analysis, competitive intelligence, value proposition development, and pricing strategy. • Executive communication, negotiation, influence, and decision-making in a global matrix organization. • Strong planning, analytical, problem-solving, and change-leadership skills.
Skills/Education Preferred • Knowledge of applicable completion equipment standards and qualification practices. • Experience developing strategic alliances, joint developments, or technology partnerships.
