The posting

This position will begin during the 2026-2027 academic year, starting in November 2026.

The Department of Advanced Clinical Sciences Nurse Anesthesia Program (NAP) invites applications for a part-time (PT) 0.5 FTE Professor of Practice Faculty member to join a well-established, successful group of nurse anesthesia educators. This non-tenure/non-status track position is designed for practicing clinicians with an interest in the faculty role of education and training of nurse anesthesia students. Individuals with experience and appropriate credentials are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will be required to comply with internal academic policies and external accreditation agency standards and requirements to retain their appointment. This in-person Professor of Practice faculty position will require departmental teaching, administrative, and service responsibilities.

This is a 12-month in-person PT position. Clinical faculty members have teaching and departmental service responsibilities and include: • assisting the Program Director and Assistant Program Director with the daily operations of the NAP. • ensuring compliance with and supporting activities related to accreditation by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs. • didactic and simulation instruction of students in the NAP. • advising students and assisting with doctoral scholarly projects. • assisting with program and curriculum development. • engaging in departmental committee work. • serving as faculty liaison for assigned clinical sites. • participating in continuing professional development.

The teaching assignment for clinical faculty will depend on the Full-Time Equivalency (FTE) of the specific position. For a 1.0 FTE, the load should not exceed ten (10) courses per year for a 12-month appointment. Clinical faculty may also be hired at less than 1.0 FTE (based on 10 classes/year as 1.0 FTE) as determined by program needs. Overload guidelines apply as appropriate.

• Doctoral degree in nursing/nurse anesthesia or related field, or evidence of progress toward a doctoral degree • Active certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) • State licensure as a Registered Nurse • Minimum of 3-5 years of current full-time practice as a CRNA • Evidence of or progress toward formal instruction in curriculum, evaluation, and instruction • Strong computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams), Adobe Acrobat, and Canvas preferred • Strong interpersonal skills and positive energy regarding collaboration • Established ability to work effectively as a team member • Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills • Experience in clinical, didactic, and/or simulation instruction preferred • Enthusiastic and committed to the education and professional development of future CRNAs

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
