Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor software engineers, establish engineering standards, conduct code reviews, and promote best practices across the development lifecycle.
  • Product Development: Drive end-to-end product development, from requirements gathering and architecture design to implementation, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.
  • Backend Development: Design and develop scalable backend applications, APIs, and services using Python, FastAPI, and related technologies.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Build, deploy, and manage cloud-based applications using AWS services, ensuring scalability, availability, security, and performance.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Implement and maintain infrastructure automation using Terraform to enable consistent, repeatable, and reliable deployments.
  • Database Management: Design, optimise, and maintain database solutions using PostgreSQL and other relational or NoSQL databases.
  • Data Engineering: Oversee the development and optimisation of ETL/ELT pipelines, data workflows, and large-scale data processing systems using Apache Airflow and Apache Spark.
  • Containerisation and Deployment: Use Docker and Kubernetes to build, package, deploy, and manage applications across development and production environments.
  • CI/CD and Automation: Establish and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and related tools to streamline software delivery.
  • Architecture and Problem-Solving: Make sound architectural decisions, identify technical risks, and resolve complex engineering challenges.
  • Agile Delivery: Lead engineering teams using Agile or Kanban methodologies, manage priorities, and ensure predictable delivery of development milestones.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with product managers, business teams, and other stakeholders to align technical execution with product goals and business priorities.

Must-Have Skills

  • Python Development: Strong hands-on experience building backend applications, services, and APIs using Python.
  • AWS Services: Practical experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud-native applications and infrastructure on AWS.
  • Terraform / Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency in automating infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management using Terraform.
  • FastAPI: Experience developing high-performance REST APIs and backend services.
  • PostgreSQL: Strong understanding of relational database design, SQL, query optimisation, and performance tuning.
  • Product Development: Experience owning technical delivery and translating product requirements into scalable software solutions.
  • Docker: Hands-on experience with containerisation and application deployment.
  • Technical Leadership: Experience mentoring engineers, driving engineering standards, and managing technical delivery.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

  • Strong hands-on expertise in Python development, AWS services, Terraform, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and Docker.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering scalable, production-grade software products.
  • Experience leading engineering teams, mentoring developers, and driving code quality and technical excellence.
  • Good understanding of cloud architecture, API design, databases, data processing, and deployment automation.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
