As a Head of Claims, you will lead a high-performing claims management team, ensuring efficient processing of all claims while maintaining regulatory compliance and superior customer satisfaction. You will drive strategic initiatives to optimize claim settlement cycles, reduce loss ratios, and implement innovative technologies that enhance operational excellence. Your expertise will guide cross‑functional collaboration, shaping policies and procedures that align with corporate risk appetite and financial goals. You will also be responsible for mentoring staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and reporting key performance metrics to senior leadership. Overall, you will be a pivotal force in safeguarding the organization’s financial health through meticulous claim oversight and strategic risk management.

Requirements

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

• Oversee end‑to‑end claims processing, ensuring adherence to policies and regulatory requirements.

• Develop and implement claims management strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing claims team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

• Drive the adoption of digital claims solutions and automation tools to streamline workflows and increase transparency.

• Monitor and analyze key claims metrics, reporting insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

• Negotiate with external stakeholders such as adjusters, legal counsel, and vendors to secure favorable outcomes.

• Conduct root‑cause analysis for escalated claims, identifying systemic issues and implementing corrective actions.

• Manage the claims budget, ensuring cost controls and resource optimization.

• Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, industry standards, and internal audit requirements.

• Collaborate closely with underwriting, risk management, and product development teams to align claims strategies with business objectives.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝘁

• 18+ years of progressive experience in claims management, preferably in a senior leadership role.

• Proven track record of reducing loss ratios and improving claims cycle times through process innovation.

• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, especially Indian insurance regulations (e.g., IRDAI).

• Advanced knowledge of claims software platforms, data analytics, and automation tools.

• Exceptional leadership and coaching skills, with experience building and scaling high‑performance teams.

• Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex settlements and manage large vendor portfolios.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex findings to senior executives and board members.

• Strategic thinking with a customer‑centric approach, balancing risk management with service excellence.

• Experience in developing and managing claims budgets, driving cost efficiencies.

• A collaborative mindset, skilled at working with cross‑functional teams such as underwriting, actuarial, and product development.
