The posting

This role is for one of Weekday’s clients

Min Experience: 8+ years Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India JobType: full-time

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Marketing Strategist to own positioning, messaging, and go-to-market (GTM) strategy for a B2B SaaS business serving a specific industry vertical. This role requires a hands-on marketing professional who can translate deep market understanding into compelling narratives, effective multi-channel campaigns, and measurable pipeline growth.

You will work closely with senior leadership, sales, product, delivery, and content teams to shape marketing strategy, challenge existing GTM approaches, and ensure that every marketing initiative contributes to business outcomes. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with strong execution capabilities and is comfortable creating high-impact content independently while leading a small marketing team.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Positioning and Messaging

  • Own positioning and messaging across the company's products and services, defining what to communicate, which audiences to target, and how to differentiate the offering from competitors and existing alternatives.
  • Develop a consistent messaging framework that informs email campaigns, sales scripts, presentations, website content, and social media.
  • Translate customer pain points, industry trends, and product capabilities into compelling value propositions.

2. Go-to-Market Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and execute GTM strategies for product launches, feature releases, and new market opportunities.
  • Evaluate proposed GTM plans, challenge assumptions, and recommend evidence-based strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Define launch messaging, stakeholder communication, channel selection, sales enablement requirements, and post-launch success metrics.
  • Partner with leadership to influence marketing priorities, product decisions, and commercial strategy.

3. Multi-Channel Marketing

  • Own the marketing strategy across email nurture campaigns, BDR outreach, sales enablement, webinars, peer roundtables, podcasts, and LinkedIn.
  • Establish channel-specific content calendars, campaign cadences, performance targets, and execution priorities.
  • Evaluate channel effectiveness and allocate resources toward initiatives that generate qualified meetings, opportunities, and pipeline.
  • Develop targeted campaigns tailored to different buyer personas and stages of the buying journey.

4. Sales Enablement and Competitive Intelligence

  • Create battlecards, competitive analyses, objection-handling guides, sales presentations, and messaging frameworks for sales teams.
  • Work with BDRs to define target audiences, refine prospecting strategies, and improve outreach scripts.
  • Equip sales teams to communicate value effectively to executive sponsors, IT stakeholders, procurement teams, and other decision-makers.
  • Identify competitive advantages, market gaps, and areas where the company's offerings may be less competitive.

5. Industry Research and Market Insights

  • Develop a strong understanding of the target industry's buying processes, budget cycles, stakeholder dynamics, and competitive landscape.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and differentiation opportunities.
  • Translate market insights into actionable recommendations for positioning, pricing, packaging, and product priorities.

6. Content Strategy and Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a small marketing team, setting clear priorities, quality standards, and execution expectations.
  • Personally create high-impact strategic content while leveraging AI tools to improve content development and production efficiency.
  • Oversee content calendars, marketing automation, events, and campaign production.
  • Collaborate with sales, product, delivery, and leadership teams to ensure marketing initiatives translate into measurable business outcomes.

7. Performance Measurement and Optimization

  • Define KPIs for marketing-sourced and marketing-influenced meetings, qualified opportunities, and pipeline contribution.
  • Establish reporting frameworks to evaluate channel performance and campaign effectiveness.
  • Deliver measurable improvements in marketing execution, sales alignment, and pipeline generation.

Must-Have Skills

  • B2B SaaS Marketing: Strong understanding of B2B marketing strategies, demand generation, and industry-specific marketing.
  • Product Marketing: Proven expertise in product positioning, messaging, competitive differentiation, and value proposition development.
  • Go-to-Market (GTM): Experience independently owning GTM strategy, product launches, and cross-functional execution.
  • Strategic thinking, market research, content development, sales enablement, and performance measurement.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Higher education marketing experience.
  • Experience selling to multi-stakeholder buying committees.
  • Familiarity with the Salesforce ecosystem and Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (Pardot).
  • Experience in consulting or professional services businesses.
  • Exposure to pricing and packaging strategy.
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior marketing professionals.
  • Proficiency with AI-powered content creation and marketing productivity tools.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in B2B SaaS marketing, product marketing, or a related strategic marketing role.
  • Demonstrated ownership of product positioning, messaging, and GTM strategy.
  • Experience developing industry-specific marketing programs rather than exclusively horizontal campaigns.
  • Proven track record of managing multi-channel campaigns, product launches, and sales enablement initiatives with measurable pipeline targets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present recommendations, influence senior stakeholders, and challenge existing strategies constructively.
  • Ability to combine strategic leadership with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
