The posting

This role is for one of Weekday’s clients Salary range: Rs 1500000 - Rs 2500000 (ie INR 15 - 25 LPA)

Min Experience: 7+ years Location: Pune JobType: full-time

We are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Manager with 7+ years of experience in technical sales, application engineering, or solution selling. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of embedded systems, electronics, IoT platforms, or industrial products, along with the ability to engage customers, conduct technical demonstrations, manage pilots, and drive deal closures.

The primary objective of this role is to convert technical opportunities into revenue by building customer confidence, understanding business requirements, and positioning suitable solutions. The candidate will work closely with the core R&D team on solution architecture, feasibility assessments, and customization requirements. This is a customer-facing and revenue-focused role rather than a core product design or engineering position.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Sales and Deal Closure

  • Own the technical sales cycle from lead qualification through technical evaluation and deal closure.
  • Understand customer use cases and translate business and technical requirements into structured inputs for the R&D team.
  • Position solutions effectively by connecting product capabilities with customer challenges and business needs.
  • Support commercial negotiations by addressing technical queries and communicating solution value.
  • Participate in Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs), providing technical inputs and responses.
  • Handle technical discussions and customer objections to move opportunities toward closure.

2. Customer Demonstrations and Pilot Execution

  • Lead on-site product demonstrations and Proof of Concepts (PoCs) using standard company platforms.
  • Coordinate with the R&D team for solution architecture finalization and custom feature requirements.
  • Manage customer trials and pilots, ensuring smooth execution and alignment with agreed objectives.
  • Act as the primary on-ground coordinator during customer evaluations and technical deployments.
  • Drive successful pilot outcomes and facilitate the transition toward commercial rollout.

3. Customer Relationship Management

  • Serve as the technical representative and primary point of contact at customer locations.
  • Engage with customer engineering, operations, and management teams.
  • Address technical objections, clarify product capabilities, and manage customer expectations.
  • Build long-term technical relationships that support repeat business and ongoing customer engagement.

4. Internal Coordination and R&D Collaboration

  • Gather structured customer requirements, technical inputs, and field feedback.
  • Collaborate with the core R&D team on feasibility assessments, development timelines, and cost-impact discussions.
  • Ensure customer commitments are realistic, technically feasible, and approved by the relevant internal teams.
  • Maintain clear communication between customers, sales, and engineering teams throughout the sales cycle.

5. Market and Competitive Intelligence

  • Gather competitor insights and market intelligence through customer interactions and field visits.
  • Identify recurring customer use cases that can be developed into standardized product offerings.
  • Share market feedback on pricing, product features, deployment expectations, and customer requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve solution positioning and strengthen competitive differentiation.

  • Confidence in handling technical questions and customer discussions independently.

Technical Understanding

  • Working knowledge of embedded systems and electronics.
  • Understanding of IoT platforms, connectivity technologies, sensors, and controllers.
  • Familiarity with field installations and industrial product environments.
  • Ability to understand system architecture discussions and coordinate technical requirements with the R&D team.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
