The posting

Do you want to unfold your skills within safety engineering and play an important part in ensuring that our radars are safe to operate?

We can offer an exciting opportunity where you get to use your technical skills and experience in an innovative environment where our goal is to push the performance of radars to the limit. At Weibel you will join a family-owned company that develops and produces state-of-the-art radar systems. Our biggest asset is our talented employees, and we believe that by creating an environment that fosters open and curious discussions, we can reach the best possible solutions.

We are looking for a colleague with experience in safety engineering to join our Systems Engineering team and be a part of developing our advanced radar systems.

About the position

As a System Safety Engineer in Weibel you will work with requirements and configuration of the overall system. This requires close collaboration with our different engineering departments to ensure that the various sub-systems work together in a manner that fulfills the overall system requirements.

Working at Weibel will provide you with hands-on experience with our radars. You get an understanding of the physics limiting radar performance and potential solutions. You are a part of the project from the final stages of the sales process until the factory acceptance test with the customer, where the performance of the finished system is tested based on predefined requirements.

The main responsibility will be:

  • Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct risk assessments according to MIL882E and ISO12100 in order to identify and evaluate potential hazards in defense systems and operations.
  • Safety Analysis: Perform safety analysis tasks such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP) to identify potential failure points and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Safety Standards Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards, including CE, military and defense-specific guidelines.
  • Safety Design Integration: Collaborate with design and engineering teams to integrate safety features into system designs from the earliest stages of development.
  • Testing and Validation: Cooperate with ITV team in the testing and validation of safety systems to ensure they function as intended under all operational conditions.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed safety documentation, including safety plans, hazard logs, and risk assessment reports.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety processes and systems.

You can expect 10-20 travelling days per year.

About our new colleague

We are looking for a colleague with a strong technical foundation and experience working with safety engineering for complex systems.

You ideally bring:

  • A university degree within Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar technical discipline
  • Experience from a defense or highly regulated industry, working with safety requirements for complex systems
  • Solid understanding of systems engineering and system‑level thinking
  • Hands‑on experience with safety standards compliance at system level, preferably including MIL882E.

In this role, you will:

  • Play a key role in ensuring that the development of individual sub‑systems complies with the overall system safety requirements
  • Work in a structured and systematic manner, keeping a clear overview of requirements, risks, and dependencies
  • Take ownership of your tasks and deliver according to agreed deadlines and quality standards

As you will collaborate with many different stakeholders across the organization, it is important that you:

  • Have strong communication skills and can explain complex technical matters clearly
  • Are able to present analyses, findings, and recommendations in a structured and professional way
  • Thrive in a collaborative environment and contribute proactively to cross‑disciplinary discussions

Your new team

You will join our team of 20+ competent colleagues in the Systems Engineering team. The level of experience in the team spans from newly graduated to more than 30 years of experience. Our team members have very different educational backgrounds that vary from electrical, aerospace and mechanical engineering to physics and computer science. We have created it in this way, because we believe that bringing people with different competences together will generate the best solutions.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
