Position Summary

The Full Stack Developer is responsible for designing, developing, integrating, securing, testing, deploying, and supporting software solutions across Wellby's enterprise technology ecosystem. This role develops and maintains solutions supporting content management systems, public web experiences, digital banking capabilities, API-based integrations, Symitar/Episys and PowerOn development, databases, cloud technologies, and other enterprise platforms. Working closely with business and technology stakeholders, the Full Stack Developer translates business requirements into scalable, secure, and supportable solutions while supporting the full software development life cycle from design through implementation and ongoing support.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Executes and supports the full software development life cycle for assigned solutions, including discovery, requirements analysis, technical design, estimation, development, code review, testing, release, monitoring, maintenance, and retirement.
  • Designs and develops responsive, accessible, secure, and high-performing experiences and reusable components for Wellby's content management system and other web platforms in partnership with external agencies.
  • Builds and maintains front-end components, back-end services, application logic, and data-access layers that support websites, digital banking experiences, internal applications, and enterprise workflows.
  • Develops custom code and extensions for digital banking capabilities in accordance with platform standards, vendor requirements, security controls, and member experience objectives.
  • Designs, develops, secures, documents, and supports REST and SOAP APIs, webhooks, service integrations, and data exchanges between internal systems and third-party platforms.
  • Develops and maintains Symitar/Episys solutions using PowerOn and related technologies such as SymXchange, SymConnect, SymForm, PowerFrame, and other supported integration methods.
  • Creates and optimizes relational database objects, queries, views, stored procedures, data models, and data transformations while protecting data integrity and performance.
  • Produces technical specifications, architecture diagrams, data mappings, API documentation, runbooks, release notes, and support documentation sufficient for operational continuity and auditability.
  • Implements automated testing, source control, peer review, CI/CD, environment configuration, and release management practices to improve quality, security, and repeatability.
  • Applies secure coding practices, least-privilege principles, secrets management, logging, monitoring, vulnerability remediation, and financial industry data protection requirements throughout solution design and delivery.
  • Investigates and resolves complex production issues across application, integration, database, and platform layers; conducts root cause analysis and implements sustainable corrective actions.
  • Partners with business analysts, product owners, infrastructure, cybersecurity, compliance, marketing, vendors, and business leaders to evaluate requirements, shape technical solutions, and deliver prioritized outcomes.
  • Provides technical guidance for assigned initiatives through solution recommendations, code reviews, development standards, mentoring, and identification of technical debt and modernization opportunities.
  • Evaluates new platforms, development tools, vendor capabilities, and integration patterns and recommends approaches that improve scalability, maintainability, security, operational efficiency, and member value.
  • Collaborates with Business Systems, Digital Banking, and Core Platform teams to design and implement scalable solutions that align with enterprise architecture, security standards, and business objectives.
  • May provide scheduled after-hours or off-peak support for releases, incidents, and vendor activities when business needs require it.
  • Ensures compliance with Wellby policies, procedures, Service Standards, industry regulations, and applicable technology, cybersecurity, and information security controls.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)

  • Knowledge of Wellby’s organizational functions and general operating policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of general office practices and procedures, business English, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Knowledge of personal computers, utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and other software.
  • Knowledge of full-stack application architecture, software design principles, data structures, algorithms, and common integration patterns.
  • Knowledge of modern web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Angular, Node.js, .NET/C#, Java, JSON, XML, or comparable technologies.
  • Knowledge of content management systems (CMS), component and template development, content APIs, responsive design, accessibility standards, performance optimization, and search engine optimization (SEO) best practices.
  • Skilled in operating computer equipment and general office machines such as personal computers, copiers, projection equipment, audio/video, Microsoft Teams, Zoom Video Communications, and adding devices.
  • Skilled in designing, developing, and supporting REST and SOAP services, authentication methods, webhooks, API gateways, integration monitoring, and error handling.
  • Skilled in SQL, relational database design, data modeling, query optimization, and data transformation.
  • Skilled in Git-based source control, branching strategies, automated testing, code quality management, CI/CD pipelines, cloud technologies, and environment management.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, debugging, and resolving complex applications, integration, and database issues.
  • Ability to learn and apply Symitar/Episys technologies, including PowerOn, SymXchange, SymConnect, SymForm, PowerFrame, and related integration methods.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to efficiently understand and follow oral and written instructions, perform routine duties without close supervision, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with other team members.
  • Ability to coordinate several concurrent activities simultaneously.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.

Minimum Qualifications·

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related technical field required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of software development experience across front-end, back-end, database, and integration technologies required.
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting enterprise applications, system integrations, and web-based solutions required.·
  • Experience with API development, systems integration, web services, and relational database technologies required.·
  • Experience developing solutions across web, enterprise, cloud, financial technology, or DevOps environments, including the use of modern development and deployment tools preferred.·
  • Experience developing Symitar/Episys solutions using PowerOn, SymXchange, SymConnect, or related technologies strongly preferred.·
  • Experience within a credit union, banking, fintech, or other regulated industry preferred.
