Full Time Nanny (Special Needs Experience Required) – San Francisco, CA

A welcoming family in San Francisco is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced full-time nanny to care for their curious, determined, and clever 2-year-old child (adjusted to 21 months). The child has mild cerebral palsy affecting his right side and was born four months premature (currently weighing approx. 18–19 lbs; not yet walking). This is a smoke-free home where the caregiver will support the child's daily routine, developmental play, and therapy/medical appointment schedule.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday
  • Full-time hours (approx. 40 hours/week)
  • Shift options: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM (family can discuss exact shift preference with candidate)

Family Specifications:

  • Smoke-free home
  • The family values engaging, supportive play such as music, arts and crafts, reading, and interactive games
  • Routine includes supporting an intensive therapy schedule (both in-home sessions and appointments at a nearby clinic)
  • Outdoor play and exploration (parks, beach, playground) are encouraged, avoiding indoor crowded spaces for now
  • Cleanliness and infection control are top priorities: sanitizing playground surfaces (such as swings) before use

Responsibilities:

  • Provide attentive, personalized care for a toddler with mild cerebral palsy affecting his right side
  • Assist with personal care routines, including diapering, potty training support, dressing, and bathing as needed
  • Support therapy homework and daily prescribed exercises outside of formal therapy sessions
  • Safely manage and utilize specialized supportive equipment, including AFO (ankle-foot orthotic), eye patching routines, and glasses
  • Safely assist and provide physical carrying/mobility support for a toddler who is not yet walking
  • Plan and prepare meals and snacks for the child, including feeding support
  • Facilitate enriching outdoor activities using sound judgment around safety and hygiene
  • Handle light housekeeping directly related to the child, such as tidying play areas and laundering the child's clothes

Requirements:

  • Proven professional childcare experience, specifically with toddlers
  • Experience caring for children with special needs or physical disabilities (cerebral palsy experience strongly preferred)
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (due to choking precautions)
  • Willingness to wear a precautionary mask during indoor shifts through winter and next summer due to the child's respiratory history and upcoming surgery
  • Strict adherence to handwashing, surface sanitation, and home health precautions
  • Fluent English communication skills
  • Ability to safely carry and assist an 18–19 lb toddler with physical therapy and mobility needs

Preferred:

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish

Compensation:

  • $30–$32 per hour (DOE)

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
