We are looking for full-time Class 1 Driver to join our team in Edmonton. The role is responsible for safely operating company vehicles while following instructions or schedule routes from the Fleet Dispatcher and Fleet Management Team. The role requires the delivery of exceptional customer service when interacting with customers. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES • Drive and follow scheduled routes based on instructions from the Management Team or Dispatcher• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspection checks• Load materials from customers and customer locations• Closely monitor condition of raw material being picked up• Unload raw material loads from trucks and trailers as per pit dumping rules at the Plant• Pick up used cooking oil from bins, barrels, and other customer bulk cooking oil tanks• Empty grease trucks as required• Maintain equipment and spill response kits, and follow clean and disinfect standard operating procedure guidelines Safely transload materials from truck to trailers• Accurately document material received at the transload and ensure the completion of paperwork such as HACCP documentation and log sheets• Report issues or concerns related to vehicle maintenance, damaged containers / bins / equipment or Customer to the Fleet Maintenance / Dispatcher in a timely manner• Operate all equipment safely and efficiently• Follow safety protocols and other procedures as dictated by WCRL or the customer’s requirements• Perform shift work based on company business needs which evolve and change in response to customer demands• Work overtime as instructed to ensure minimal downtime of facilities as per Collective Bargaining Agreement• Adhere to the company Code of Conduct and all West Coast Reduction Ltd. policies • Foster a positive team and company culture by ensuring treatment of others is respectful and aligned with company values• Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor QUALIFICATIONS & FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS • Possession of a valid Class 1 Driver’s Licence with a clean abstract• 3 years of experience in commercial truck driving or a similar environment an asset• Strong knowledge of Central and Northern Alberta areas• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with excellent communication skills• Ability to frequently move, carry, lift, push and pull equipment up to 50 lbs without assistance and occasionally greater with assistance• Perform repetitive motions including bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing and reaching overhead above the shoulders daily• Adaptable to adverse conditions including confined space, heights, cold weather, odours and animal by-products
