Georgetown Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team and help create exceptional experiences for clients and patients during exams and outpatient visits.

We're a growing practice that just welcomed a new doctor to our team — and we're looking for the right person to grow with us. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is outgoing, dependable, and genuinely loves animals and the people who bring them in. We are seeking a motivated assistant who thrives in client engagement and multitasking, and takes pride in contributing to a positive, team-focused environment every single day.

In this position, you will play a critical role in supporting efficient hospital operations, creating positive client experiences, and ensuring patients receive compassionate, high-quality care.

Schedule and compensation:

  • Compensation: $15 - 17 per hour, for each hour worked
  • Schedule: This is a full-time position, working Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and rotating every other Saturday. No on-call requirements.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

  • 1+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role preferred
  • Proficiency in the following skills: Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signs preferred Ability to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational and time management skills Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment Dependable attendance and strong work ethic Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients safely throughout the workday Commitment to exceptional patient care and client service
