The posting

Westminster City School is a successful 11-18 Christian non-denominational comprehensive academy for boys with a mixed sixth form. Ours is a vibrant learning community situated in the heart of central London with all the opportunities and advantages of an inner-city school.

Join our inclusion team

Help students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) learn, build confidence and become independent. Westminster City School is an ambitious 11-18 boys’ comprehensive academy with a mixed sixth form and a non-denominational Christian ethos, in central London.

Ofsted’s May 2026 inspection recognised strong standards in achievement, attendance and behaviour, leadership and governance, and post-16 provision. Inclusion met the expected standard; safeguarding standards were met. We are building on improvements in SEND identification and support, strengthening adaptations to learning and access to wider opportunities.

The role

Under the direction of the Assistant SENDCo, SENDCo and teachers, you will support learning in lessons and agreed interventions, implement pupil profiles and reasonable adjustments, and contribute to assess, plan, do, review. You will listen to students, record progress and support enrichment, trips and transitions.

What you will bring

Experience of working with young people, strong communication skills, and good literacy, numeracy and digital skills.

High expectations, a calm and flexible approach, and a commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.

Willingness to learn about a range of SEND and implement agreed support, including for students with EHC plans.

Commitment to our values of wisdom, integrity, compassion and excellence.

Experience of supporting autistic students and other students with SEND in secondary setting is desirable.

Full criteria as set out on the attached JD / person specification.

What we offer and how to apply

We offer a full induction programme, professional development and support from the Assistant SENDCo, SENDCo and colleagues.

A supportive and collegiate staff culture and staff benefits including an interest-free season ticket loan and cycle-to-work scheme.

To apply / further details

If you would like to discuss the role informally, please e-mail [email protected] (PA to Headteacher). You may also wish to visit our website (www.wcsch.com) to research more about the school.

Safeguarding

Westminster City School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. This role involves regulated activity with children. Appointment is subject to satisfactory safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS check with children’s barred list information. It is an offence to apply if barred from regulated activity with children. Online searches may be undertaken for shortlisted candidates as part of due diligence.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
