The posting

Hi 👋! I’m Sjamilla https://www.linkedin.com/in/svdtooren/, Manager of the Talent Acquisition team and based in Amsterdam 🇳🇱. At WeTravel, we're on a mission to empower travel businesses to focus on what they do best - creating magical experiences - while we handle the complex payment infrastructure behind the scenes. We're building technology that makes travel payments seamless, secure, and scalable for organizers worldwide.

As our Tech Talent Acquisition Partner, you'll be instrumental in building our engineering and product teams. You'll partner closely with technical hiring managers, craft compelling outreach to passive candidates, and ensure every engineer who talks to us has an exceptional experience - whether they join us or not.

JUST TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA, THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT YOUR WEEK COULD LOOK LIKE IN THIS ROLE:

Monday: Your week starts with the recruitment team sync, where you discuss pipeline health, share sourcing wins, and align on priorities. Then it's straight into the Engineering sync with all the technical hiring managers - you're getting updates on their team needs, discussing candidates in process, and prioritizing which roles need the most attention. You wrap up the day with the People Ops team to flag any issues or blockers.

Tuesday: Today is your dedicated sourcing day. You're deep in research mode - scrolling through profiles, and reaching out to engineers who've built interesting projects. You personalize each message, making it clear why WeTravel might be their next great opportunity. You also have a kick-off meeting for a new Senior Backend Engineer role, diving deep into the tech stack, team dynamics, and what they're really looking for. You spend time building Boolean searches and mapping out your sourcing strategy for the week.

Wednesday: Today, you're joining the weekly sourcing session with all the engineering managers. Together, you're reviewing profiles, discussing potential candidates, and collaboratively building pipelines for their open roles. It's a great way to get their input on who might be a good fit and to leverage their networks. The rest of the day is filled with screening calls - you're having in-depth conversations with candidates about their technical experience, their passion for travel, and what they're looking for in their next role. You're not just assessing, you're selling them on WeTravel's mission and growth trajectory.

Thursday: You're partnering with Marketing today on an employer branding initiative. Together, you're crafting content for LinkedIn that showcases WeTravel's engineering culture - maybe a "day in the life" video with one of the engineers or a post about the team's latest technical challenge.

Friday: Today's about moving candidates forward and closing strong. You're coordinating final interviews, debriefing with hiring teams, and preparing offer details. You have an offer call with a Senior Engineer who you've been building a relationship with for weeks - and they accept! You wrap up the week by celebrating the win with your team and sending follow-up messages to candidates still in your pipeline.

This is an indication of what we think your week could look like. How it will really be is up to you. We give you the freedom to do your best work and deliver it in a way you feel most comfortable with.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

- Own full-cycle recruiting for Product & Engineering roles.

- Master the art of sourcing - going beyond LinkedIn to find passive candidates on GitHub, Stack Overflow, tech meetups, and niche communities.

- Partner with hiring managers across technical teams, acting as their trusted advisor while providing constructive pushback when needed to ensure we make the best hiring decisions.

- Create exceptional candidate experiences that result in high NPS scores, treating every interaction as an opportunity to showcase WeTravel's culture and mission.

- Use data to drive decisions, analyzing metrics in Ashby to monitor pipeline health, optimize conversion rates, and identify bottlenecks.

- Build and nurture talent pipelines, maintaining relationships with great candidates even when timing isn't right.

- Represent WeTravel as a brand ambassador in the tech community, at events, and in every candidate conversation.

- Identify process improvements, finding ways to work smarter and create more efficient recruiting workflows.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

- 3-5 years of technical recruiting experience, preferably in scale-up or high-growth environments

- Deep sourcing expertise - you're creative, persistent, and know your way around Boolean search, GitHub, and tech communities

- Strong technical understanding - you can discuss tech stacks, evaluate technical fit, and have credible conversations with engineers

- Experience with ATS platforms (preferably Ashby), and you love using data to optimize your recruiting process

- Excellent stakeholder management - you know when to adapt your approach and when to push back constructively

- Proven track record of delivering quality technical hires in competitive markets

- Passion for candidate experience - you genuinely care about how every candidate feels throughout the process

- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal

- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and prioritize effectively

- Available 32-40 hours per week and able to work from our Amsterdam office 2-3 days per week

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
