About the Role:

WEX is transforming how businesses manage spend and fleets—with a vision beyond traditional fueling through a growing set of payment, discounting, and platform capabilities built on shared platform investments.

We are looking for an experienced, strategic, and execution-driven Senior Product Manager (Level 4) to own and scale our next generation of Merchant Product solutions. Sitting within the North American Mobility (NAM) Product Team, you will act as an emerging strategic leader and trusted influencer owning a significant set of initiatives aligned to our core merchant systems—including discount networks (such as the EDGE Savings Network), pricing programs, and merchant-to-fleet communication channels.

In this role, you will drive the full product lifecycle from ideation to market delivery, connecting deep customer insights to broader company strategy, and owning customer adoption, usage, and financial value. You will work closely with senior product leaders, engineering, design, and go-to-market teams to create capabilities that communicate dynamic pricing and discount programs to fleets, driving mutual value across our merchant and fleet ecosystems.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop Bold Vision and Product Strategy: Act as an emerging strategic leader to develop a bold vision and clear priorities for WEX’s merchant product ecosystem. Shape product strategy across our portfolio of discounting solutions, identify market gaps, and serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership.
  • Own Product and Financial Outcomes: Drive the execution of complex merchant initiatives, owning customer and business outcomes. Proactively define input and output metrics, utilizing rigorous business modeling and OKRs to tell the performance story of your product and drive customer and financial outcomes.
  • Lead Deep Customer and Partner Discovery: Dive deep into user behaviors and establish ongoing relationships with key merchants and fleets. Integrate qualitative and quantitative insights to pinpoint top partner problems and guide core product trade-offs.
  • Drive Multi-Channel Experiences & Portal Enhancements: Own and optimize customer journeys as they utilize our discounting programs across digital portals and platforms. Streamline onboarding workflows, automate administrative operations, and represent merchant product priorities within broader platform initiatives to reduce friction.
  • Design & Execute Iterative Experiments: Formulate hypotheses and design test-and-learn experiments to improve system administration, portal usability, and customer workflows, driving measurable adoption and delivering on key OKRs.
  • Partner & Influence Cross-Functionally: Build trust and facilitate alignment across Digital, Technology, Commercial, Risk, and Operations teams to ensure technical, operational, and financial systems are fully aligned and revenue is secure.
  • Manage Full Business & System Lifecycle: Oversee the evolution of merchant capabilities from initial ideation to a scalable, repeatable model. Detail how data flows through core systems and merchant-specific platforms, ensuring operational readiness at every stage.

Merchant Product Specifics:

  • Collaborate Across Customer-Facing Product Teams: Partner closely with adjacent WEX product owners who manage mobile apps, web portals, and communication channels to ensure they understand, align on, and prioritize the necessary features and configurations required to support seamless driver and fleet manager discounting and incentive use cases.
  • Align Go-to-Market & Value Communications: Coordinate across marketing, product marketing, customer service, and commercial teams to ensure consistent external communications that clearly articulate the value of WEX discounting programs to fleets.
  • Expand Platform & Merchant Communication Capabilities: Drive enhancements to our core pricing, discounting, and merchant platforms to enable partners to configure, manage, and effectively communicate dynamic, self-set discounts directly to participating fleets.
  • Design & Execute Fuel-Saving Behavioral Experiments: Formulate hypotheses and run test-and-learn experiments to understand when, where, and how drivers and fleet managers utilize pricing and discount information, optimizing their decision-making for maximum fuel savings.

What You Bring:

  • Minimum of 5+ years: of professional Product Management experience (or 8+ years of professional experience with significant tenure in product leadership), ideally within payment platforms, fintech, merchant services, or B2B platforms.
  • Strategic Leadership: Proven experience owning and strategically leading a significant set of initiatives aligned to a major product area or platform capability.
  • Technical Domain Expertise: Strong expertise in systems thinking and platform strategy, with a background in payment platform products, merchant ecosystems, APIs, and partner integrations.
  • Metrics & Outcomes Focus: Proven track record of defining and leveraging metrics/OKRs to tell a product's performance story, justify strategic priorities, and deliver customer and financial outcomes.
  • Roadmapping & Scaling: Strong strategic planning and roadmapping capabilities, with the ability to define repeatable patterns from one-off integrations and establish clear development phases.
  • Collaborative Influence: Excellent collaborative influence and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build trust, facilitate difficult conversations, and align stakeholders.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Insights-proficient and highly comfortable utilizing qualitative and quantitative data and interactive tools to drill down and make informed product decisions.
  • Mentorship: Proven leadership and mentorship skills, with the ability to guide and role-model discovery methods and strategic thinking for junior PMs.

Nice to Have:

  • Direct experience with core pricing, discounting, or ledger systems.
  • Fluency running GTM experiments, channel testing, or behavioral A/B tests.
  • Master’s Degree in business, technology, or a related field.

Why This Role Matters:

WEX is expanding its merchant systems and platform capabilities, unlocking critical growth opportunities through our discounting and pricing ecosystems. This role will help shape how we:

  • Deepen Relationships: Deepen connections between merchants and fleets by facilitating seamless, dynamic value exchange and direct communications.
  • Simplify Savings: Simplify and optimize how fleets discover, utilize, and maximize savings programs.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Alignment: Drive cross-functional alignment across digital interfaces, core processing layers, commercial, and risk teams to scale unified solutions.
  • Empower Partners: Ensure that merchants have comprehensive, flexible tools to configure discounts and attract fleet volumes, establishing repeatable platform patterns.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Strategic Roadmapping: You define and drive the strategic roadmap for a portion of WEX Merchant Products, translating a bold vision into market-ready features and platform capabilities.
  • Cross-Functional Trusted Partnership: You foster close, collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners, ensuring operational, technical, and risk readiness for new discounting schemes and merchant configurations.
  • Behavioral Experiments: You leverage qualitative and quantitative insights to design experiments that increase merchant-to-fleet communication effectiveness and optimize driver savings.
  • Mentorship and Alignment: You act as a trusted leader and influencer, mentoring junior product managers and driving alignment across tech, commercial, and customer-facing product teams.

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
